Netflix's Tiger King, which jump-started lockdown last March, became an international sensation when we were all locked indoors to watch the increasingly weird documentary.

And now the Tiger King himself, Joe Exotic, has shared a rare photo on Instagram that shows an insight into his life in prison.

The photo sees Joe in the middle with one man on either side of him. While Joe seems to be sort-of smiling with sunglasses on top of his grey bangs while his long hair rests on his shoulder, the other two, one wearing sunglasses and one wearing a white cap, are somewhat grimacing at the camera.

Sharing it on his official and verified Instagram page, the post was captioned: "Regal, me, and Geovanti. My Mexican family."

Beauty YouTuber Venetian Princess commented on the post, "Your bangs are looking [fire]. Do they have hair salons in jail?"

Another said, "Looking good Joe! Hope you get out soon, the justice system needs to do better!."

A third wrote, "Joe looks awesome, just the way he is. #FreeJoeExotic #JusticeForJoeExotic"

Joe is best known for his role in Netflix' Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, who operated the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park in Wynnewood, Oklahoma from 1998 to 2018.

The true-crime series saw Joe, a 'big cat' enthusiast, striking a rivalry with animal rights activist Carole Baskin. He was later arrested of plotting to murder Carole, as well as animal abuse.

In 2019, he was convicted of 17 charges of animal abuse and two counts of murder for hire, and was later sentenced to 22 years in prison.

Joe has maintained his innocence and continues to file appeals for his charges, with one appeal suggesting that he was the vicim of corruption and discrimination as he is "an openly gay male with the largest collection of generic tigers and crossbreeds."
