The How I Met your Mother spin-off starring Hilary Duff has revealed its first teaser.
Seven months after the spin-off, titled How I Met Your Father, was confirmed, the cast and American streaming service Hulu has unveiled behind the scenes pictures.
The series has a similar premise to the original with a gender-flipped twist. It will take place in the future where a mother named Sophie (played by Hilary Duff) tells her son the story of how she met his dad.

Viewers will be whisked back to 2021 where Sophie and her friends figure out what they want in life, fall in and out of love and use dating apps.
The first official picture shows Lizzie McGuire star Hilary with her new co-stars Francia Raisa, Suraj Sharma, Tien Tran, Chris Lowell and Tom Ainsley on a set mimicking the Brooklyn Bridge.
Unfortunately, the new teaser doesn't include new cast member and former Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall who has been cast as Sophie in the future, Deadline reports. Kim's character as future Sophie will involve her telling her son the story of his parents' meeting each other, like Josh Radnor and Bob Saget in How I Met Your Mother.

How I Met Your Mother's creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas will serve as executive producers on the new show.
The beloved sitcom aired on CBS for nine seasons and 208 episodes between 2005-2014 in the US and E4 in the UK. Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel and Alyson Hannigan starred and Bob Saget narrated as an older version of Ted Mosby.
All episodes of How I Met Your Mother can be streamed on Disney+. This is the perfect opportunity to catch up on all the old adventures before How I Met Your Father drops in 2022.
In other news, Hilary took to Instagram Stories to share the news that she had pierced her seven-month-old daughter’s ears.

Already predicting the backlash, Duff captioned the post: “Yes! I pierced her ears today. Can’t wait for the internet to call me a child abuser....again. Lesss go. [sic]”
The actor was referring to an incident that took place two years ago, after she shared a picture of piercing her older daughter’s ears when she was eight months old.
Many people were quick to pour scorn of Duff’s parenting choices at the time, with some even going as far as to liken piercing a child’s ears as ‘abuse.’
