Vera Farmiga has revealed she had a cross-shaped bruise on her leg that appeared during filming of The Conjuring: Last Rites, which hit cinemas last month.
We all know life can imitate art, but this takes it a little too far.
The 52-year-old actress has played the role of Lorraine Warren in all four of the films currently in the horror franchise, as well as making cameos in spin-off films like Annabelle and The Nun.
Fans of the movies will know that they're loosely based on real-life events and hauntings explored in the case files of paranormal investigators Ed (played by Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren.

The most recent film centred around the story of the Smurl family in Pennsylvania, who claimed they were plagued by a malevolent supernatural presence in their home.
The family made headlines around the world when they went public with their terrifying belief that a demon was haunting their home, which led them to seek help from both the Catholic Church and the Warrens.

After moving into their home in August 1973, they said they experienced minor unexplained occurrences, which quickly turned into terror and supernatural 'assaults,' including children being thrown down the stairs to parents Jack and Janet 'levitating as high as the ceiling' while in bed.

However, it seems the horrors have somewhat extended to the cast who were filming the story, as actress Vera revealed the sinister bruise during an interview with E! News while promoting the movie in August.
Showing a photo of the cross-shaped mark, she admitted: "Yeah, I get battered."
The actress added: "That happens every time we do it. It's just these inexplicable bruising shapes that occur on my body. It just is what it is."
She explained: "It depends whether it's upside down or not, whether they're crosses or upside down crosses. I guess it depends on how I show you my leg."

However, Vera admitted she isn't too keen on discussing the real-life hauntings they've faced in their many years working on the fan-favourite franchise.
She said: "We don't like talking about it. We're caught between a rock and a hard place - sensationalising this and selling a movie."

While her co-star, Patrick Wilson, added: "I've said this in response to even what Vera's talking about, with stuff that's happened on set. I think anytime something happens in real life, I never sensationalize it.

"There's a lot of unexplained things and anytime you're dealing with real people, real families, real friends, that's much bigger than any of this sort of stuff."
Vera first revealed the bruise in July with a photo on Instagram, but fans thought it was simply part of the movie.
One fan commented: "Okay Vera I see you with the fish but more importantly what happened with the bruise?"
To which she eerily responded: "#Conjuring’s coming. That’s what." Chills.
