Forget fashion and beauty bloggers - we all know that cleaning bloggers are enjoying their moment in the spotlight. And now one of them, Lynsey Queen of Clean, has shared a genius hack for getting rid of sunscreen stains - a problem we'll all be encountering this summer as temperatures rise.
Lynsey Crombie, 39, from Peterborough, who runs the page, says she has been inundated with requests from fans asking for help removing suncream stains. She warns that wiping stains with a wet wipe - a natural response - can actually make the problem worse.
She writes: "I literally can't keep up with the messages I am receiving regarding suncream stains so it has to be this weeks cleaning tip Tuesday.
"Suncream can be a real pain to get out and the longer you leave it the worse it is going to get. If you are out and about when the stain occurs you are naturally going to wipe the stain with a tissue or a wet wipe but the heat from the sun and perspiration can activate the grease even more making it much worse."
Instead, Lynsey recommends turning to white wine vinegar or eucalyptus oil for a magical solution.
"As soon as you can, rinse the stain from the reverse under a cold water tap," she recommends.
"Sun cream has an oil base so you need something to break that down, so one of your go to products here is white wine vinegar. Cover the stain in the vinegar and leave a good 30 minute to an hour to really allow the vinegar to work.
"Another option is eucalyptus oil. Eucalyptus oil is great for oily stains. Just cover the whole stain and leave for around 15 minutes."
Lynsey, who has over 34,000 followers on Facebook and 150,000 followers on Instagram who hang onto her every word about cleanliness, has given us plenty of ingenious tips before - including getting rid of bad odours in shoes by placing teabags inside them. What a game changer.
