Heidi Klum sparks major debate after teasing Halloween costume in cryptic post

We're only two days into October, but the world's favourite Halloween queen, Heidi Klum, has already started planning her costume.

The 52-year-old supermodel is known for going all out, and draws attention every single year for her iconic costume choices for the spooky holiday.

From ET to Shrek, Cleopatra to a peacock, and my personal favourite, a giant worm, there is nothing that Heidi, and of course her SFX makeup team, can't pull off.

The TV personality also throws an elaborate Halloween bash every year on October 31st, and it is the place to be for A-listers.

Now, with fans rushing to guess what Heidi will embody this time, she's decided to get everyone excited early by sharing a clue.

The model posted a snap to Instagram of the beginning of her costume design process - a 3D mask which is mounted on a metal background.

She wrote in the caption: "This is just the beginning @prorenfx #HeidiHalloween."

Now, as you can see, it is just a mask that's clearly in the very early stages of being designed, so it's quite difficult to predict who or what Heidi may be dressing up as - but that hasn't stopped fans from giving it a go.

The guesses have been rolling in across social media, with one user on Reddit convinced she's going as Gladys from Weapons, who was portrayed by Amy Madigan.

However, another argued: "Everyone will be Gladys this year. I doubt she would go for that…right?"

While another Redditor guessed: "Looks to me like there’s space around the mouth for a tongue to stick out, so some kind of monster that sticks its tongue out? Venom maybe?"

Others threw in their bets with: "The Engineer from the Alien movies?" and "Dude she's gonna be the human-predecessor species from Prometheus!"

Someone else reasoned: "We can't say anything at this point except that it involves a mask or prosthetics. This is just the armature on which to build those.

"There are a couple reasons why the lower lip could be smooth like that, it might be because her lower lip will not be covered by the prosthetic."

Other guesses include a Labubu, Cision from the Marvel films, and the magic mirror from Shrek, to name just a few.

"It’s giving Medusa," quipped another fan, while someone else guessed: "Since the bottom is carved out, maybe a mannequin?"

Others have simply taken the opportunity to praise Heidi for her true dedication to Halloween, expressing their excitement for it to be unveiled.

Someone wrote: "If I was rich and famous for being beautiful, I, too, would spend my time and money becoming something like a worm once a year. Hell, I probably wouldn't always wait for Halloween."

With a second fan agreeing: "The worm was simply incredible. She was so committed, giving that interview lying down..."

"Perfect example of doing rich right" and "This is also why I will never critique celebrities for crazy/outlandish outfits. Why would you NOT?! That s*** would be so fun," added others.

No matter what it is, it's guaranteed to be iconic, and we cannot wait for the grand reveal!
