Kylie Jenner’s surprise Victoria’s Secret debut sparks debate as some fans call out disappointing detail
Kylie Jenner has officially gained her wings as a Victoria’s Secret angel and she made history while doing it - but not everyone is happy.
On Sunday, the 29-year-old reality TV star made her debut at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Los Angeles.
Kylie looked incredible as she strutted out wearing not just any glamorous lingerie set, but the most expensive Fantasy Bra of all time.
For those of you who have no idea what we’re talking about, the Fantasy Bra is essentially Victoria’s Secret’s centrepiece and crown jewel.

Reserved for the brand's top supermodels and prominent ‘Angels,’ it’s been worn by the likes of Tyra Banks and Heidi Klum.
Elsa Hosk was the last Angel to wear it in 2018 before the show went on a multi-year hiatus in 2019, and now, Kylie has become the first non-VS Angel to model it.
As per USA Today, this year’s design has been valued at $50 million, making it the most expensive Fantasy Bra of all time. The last design was valued at $1 million.
The publication reports that the diamond-encrusted bra is made up of a whopping 4,410 natural diamonds, bringing the total weight to 1,373.39 carats.
Kylie being chosen for the honour has sparked mixed emotions, with some fans disappointed that an original VS Angel didn’t get to wear the bra.
One social media user admitted: “Looked gorgeous but my reaction was disappointment, she’s not even an angel and she got the fantasy bra like plssss.”
While a second added: “IMO Adrianna Lima or Candace should have worn that bra,” and a third wrote: “I think Barbara deserves it way more.”
A fourth and fifth chimed in with: “I'm disappointed” and “So disappointed she is not even a model but she can buy the bra obviously, when VS goes broke.”
A sixth agreed: “She’s not an angel… she’s pretty, she could’ve walked at any point, but that bra was meant for an OG angel.”
And a seventh wrote: “Fantasy bra is and should be an angel only privilege….very disappointing.”
However, other VS fans were more than happy with the unexpected choice, and took to social media to praise Kylie’s big moment.
One Instagram user pointed out: “I think ppl forget how influential she is to our generation and the ones after us. As much as it would have been iconic to have an all-star veteran to wear the bra like, also this was iconic lmao.”
While a second quipped: “I was excited seeing her! The amount of people acting like she doesn’t model is crazy. There were women on that runway with less modeling experience than her lol.”
And a third and fourth gushed: “Yeeeess, I loooove my girl Kylie” and “I screamed so loud and got all emotional too! I’m so happy for her, this was amazing.”
Kylie was supported in the audience by her ‘momager,’ Kris Jenner, and her boyfriend, actor Timothée Chalamet.
Alongside the bra, she sported a matching crystal-studded thong and a white miniskirt, as well as, of course, her Angel wings!
