Love Island fans were left stunned when Samie Elisha announced her pregnancy with Tyrique Hyde this week and she’s now speaking out about the backlash.
On Monday, the reigning Love Island: All Stars winner, 26, shared a pregnancy announcement with her boyfriend, Love Island star Tyrique. The announcement included footage recorded at an ultrasound appointment, leaving fans shocked by how far along her pregnancy already is.
One reason why Love Island viewers are so blown away is because of Samie’s whirlwind romance with Tyrique. They were first linked romantically in March, just a few weeks after Samie won the hit ITV2 series with her now-ex, Ciaran Davies.
After announcing her pregnancy online and debuting her baby bump on the red carpet at the Pride of Britain Awards the same day, Samie responded to fans on her Instagram Stories.

The 26-year-old shared her thanks for their ‘lovely comments’ about the couple’s baby news.
“Thank you for all the love we’ve received in the past 24hrs, appreciate you all," she gushed.
The reality TV star also addressed the negative responses to her baby news.
“This world can be an ugly scary place at times especially with social media & millions of opinions. It’s not always right but sadly it’s the way it is,” she wrote.
“However the good always outweighs the bad, we’re soo blessed & happy right now. All your lovely comments & messages haven’t gone unnoticed.”
Tyrique appeared on Love Island in 2023 where he was coupled up with Ella Thomas although their romance did not last.
The 27-year-old made his interest in Samie clear when she appeared on Love Island: All Stars earlier this year. They were spotted together at the Baller League football game in March and later flew to Morocco.
Tyrique went on to spill that it was actually a romantic getaway and he used the trip to ask Samie to be his girlfriend.
Cosmopolitan reports that Tyrique said he 'heard murmurs' that Samie and Ciaran were on the rocks just days after the final and decided: “I’m gonna shoot my shot”, before sending flowers to Samie’s house.
The new couple had officially hard-launched their romance on social media by the end of April.
Although the romance may seem like it came out of nowhere, the pair have been friends for years. Appearing on Joe Baggs' Not My Baggs podcast in April, Tyrique confirmed that the pair have actually known each other for nearly six years, but before this year, nothing had ever been romantic between them.

He explained: "Me and Samie have known of each other for like six years because we first met when my boy Toby Aromolaran came out of Love Island – we had a Boohoo launch event.
"Samie was there that night, and obviously I went with Toby that night. So I saw her there, I moved to her, and I said, 'Let me get your number'. And she was like, 'You can’t have my number yet, but you can have my Instagram'. I was like, 'Go on then – cool, whatever'.
"I DM’d her and said, 'Whatcha saying?' and being like me, young, 21, I was being a little s**t. She was like, 'You’re not serious', so we stopped talking."
He then revealed that he 'tried his shot' again when he heard rumours that she'd split from Ciaran.
Tyrique recalled: "When she came out, obviously she's from Camden, and I know a few people - we have a few people in common… I heard murmurs that a few days after they came out that she's not really feeling it like that.
"So I'm like, 'Alright, cool'. She's said she's not feeling it, I've expressed that I want her - I’m going to go for this now.”
