Our Yorkshire Farm star Clive Owen breaks silence on split from wife Amanda

Our Yorkshire Farm star Clive Owen breaks silence on split from wife Amanda

He admits he 'behaved badly'.

Clive Owen, the star of Our Yorkshire Farm, says he’s ‘played a massive part’ in his ‘messy’ break-up with his wife Amanda.

Owen, 68, is the star of the wholesome Channel 5 show, Our Yorkshire Farm. The series acts as a behind-the-scenes look at how one of the UK’s most remote farms is run.

The first-generation farmer and his now-estranged wife, Amanda, 48, previously allowed Channel 5 access to their rural day-to-day lives.

The couple reportedly met by chance in 1996, near their Ravenseat farm. They tied the knot in 2000 and went on to have nine children together — Raven, 19, Reuben, 17, Miles, 15, Edith, 12, Violet, ten, Sidney, nine, Annas, seven, Clemmy, six, and Nancy, four.

However Owen and his wife, dubbed the Yorkshire Shepherdess, split in June 2022. The latter announced the break-up at the time via an Instagram Story.

On behalf of the pair, she wrote, “Clive and I are sad to confirm that we have made the difficult decision to separate.”

“This hasn’t been easy, but we both believe it’s the right choice for the future of our family.

“Although we are no longer a couple, we continue to work on the farm and co-parent together, with our number one priority the happiness and wellbeing of our children”

Amanda Owen announced that he had split from her husband, Clive, in summer 2022.

However following the break-up, it was rumoured that Amanda was having an affair.

The man was named 71-year-old businessman, Robert Davies. The relationship is thought to have lasted five years.

However, despite the reported infidelity coming to light, Owen believes he is the one who was responsible for ‘driving her away’.

On Thursday 13 April, Owen finally broke his silence following the couple’s shock split last summer. He appeared on Lorraine and told last-minute presenter Christine Lampard, 44, that he had ‘behaved badly’.

In a rare interview, Owen admitted that he handled the recording of Our Yorkshire Farm badly.

“I handled [filming the show] very badly. It was such a huge change in our life and sadly I made a mess of things,” he told Lampard.

“I had a massive part to play in our relationship ending… When this was going on, I was ranting and raving and drinking and carrying on. I was driving her away.”

About the break-up, Owen said, “It got to a point we couldn’t get along at all and we parted. And that is how that is.

“I live at the farm, she lives half a mile away, we are in business together, and we spend a lot of time with each other.”

Owen also praised his estranged wife for looking after the children. He stated that “the children are cool” and that they were growing up to be amazing “because of her.”

In November 2022, it was announced that Our Yorkshire Farm would not be returning to Channel 5 for a fifth season.

However, the revelation came at the same time that Owen’s new show, Beyond Yorkshire Farm, was revealed.

Beyond Yorkshire Farm first aired in December 2022. It followed Owen and his son Reuben tackling a tough winter on the farm.
