Michael Bublé has opened up on the impact his young son's cancer diagnosis had on his life, and revealed the key piece of advice he'd have loved his younger self to have known when the shocking news landed.

Everyone knows Michael Bublé as one of the most iconic singers of modern times, especially when it comes to Christmas tunes.

Currently on tour, he recently opened up about his personal life in an interview, where he discussed some of the more difficult days he'd had in recent years.

One of the hardest was the moment when he learned that his young son Noah had been diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma, a form of liver cancer, which mostly affects children.

Speaking to The Big Issue, the singer explained that when his son Noah received the diagnosis, he cancelled his tour and tried to do his best to be there for his family,

There was one thing he wished he could go back and tell himself for those days as he explained that his perspective had been significantly changed.

He said: "I was as strong as I could possibly be under the circumstances. And I had the right priorities. But if I could give advice to my younger self at any point, through all of the good or bad times in my career and my home life, I’d say, be more present.

"I spent so much time worrying about the future, or even the past. Now I tell my kids all the time, we cannot change what we’ve done. And we have no control about what is going to happen in the future."

"So all we can do is be in the moment and be as present as possible. If we can do that we will live a happy life."

Noah has fortunately made a full recovery after his diagnosis.

The singer explained that he cancelled his tour in 2016 after his son's diagnosis and had gained a new outlook on life.

The singing star also talked about loving the way his children have grown up and changed over the years.

“With my kids, I feel like I’ve met different children in each one as they’ve grown." He said.

"I started with a wonderful fat little baby and I fell in love with every little fold over their ankles. And then I fell in love again when they turned one and they became these little toddlers."

Then I fell in love with the little three-year-old pre-schooler. And this morning I kissed my nine-year-old son and I fell in love with him again."
