Viewers who tuned in to new mini-series Station Eleven are calling it the best show of the year after catching its debut on HBO Max this week.
Based on the bestselling 2014 novel of the same name by Emily St. John Mandel, the series tells the stories of the survivors of a deadly flu as they try to rebuild the world (the timing of the series feels a little bit on the nose, if you ask us!)

The series stars Mackenzie Davis (Happiest Season), Himesh Patel (Yesterday), and Daniel Zovatto (Penny Dreadful).
While the setting of a post-pandemic world might be hard to stomach for some at the moment, those who have already tuned in can't stop talking about it.
Plus, those who were fans of the original novel seem to be quite pleased with the TV adaption - always a good sign!
Only three episodes of the 10-part series have been released so far, but fans can't wait to see what's to come.
"Some personal news: STATION ELEVEN is the best TV show of the year," tweeted one viewer after tuning in this week.
"Holy crap, Station Eleven. I've only watched one so far, but... holy crap," wrote another.
One shocked fan added: "Um, so, the pilot episode of Station Eleven may just be the best pilot episode I've ever seen? Top 3 at the very least. Post-apocalypse Heads need to check that out ASAP."
One fan of the book was thrilled with how the adaption turned out, tweeting: "I am so excited about #StationEleven already love the first episode. It's exactly everything I imagined."
"Highly recommend Station Eleven, whether you've read the book or not. Haven't had a show grab me so strongly after only a few episodes in quite a while," wrote another viewer.
Currently, Station Eleven is only available to watch on HBO Max, but will be available to watch on Starzplay in the UK from January 30, 2022.
