Love Island star Aidan Murphy has now shared a shocking update about his relationship with Priya Jaswal.
The couple’s romance came after a tumultuous time on the show, with plenty of missed connections and twists along the way. But after finally finding their way to each other, Aidan, 23, and Priya, 25, appeared to have found a strong connection.
Despite things going well between the pair, their relationship hit a road block on the show after property broker Aidan admitted he didn’t have 'deeper feelings' for Priya. Their coupling became even more awkward at The Grafties when Aidan was shown flirting with Jasmine Müller’s sister when she came to visit the villa along with the families of other Islanders.
Although the Aidan and Priya eventually rekindled their romance, with Aidan apologising several times, they ultimately called time on their relationship and were dumped from the villa not long after.

But this wasn't the end of their story and during the live final, they surprised Maya Jama and viewers by revealing that they had rekindled their romance once again.
However, several weeks after the final, they have now confirmed that their summer love story has come to an end, with both Priya and Aiden releasing statements on social media confirming their split and why they're going their separate ways.

Aidan posted a lengthy statement on his Instagram Story, explaining that while they enjoyed going on dates and getting to know each other outside of the villa, they are better off as friends.
He wrote: “I’ve had the most amazing experience this summer, and meeting Priya was without a doubt one of the best parts of my Love Island journey. We’ve shared some really special memories and I’ll always be grateful for the time we’ve spent together.
“However, after getting to know each other outside of the villa, we’ve realised that we’re much better suited as friends. I have nothing but love and respect for Priya and wish her nothing but the very best for everything that’s to come.”
Earlier this summer, Priya confirmed that they had not made things official nor were they using the 'boyfriend' or 'girlfriend' labels. She opened up about why during an appearance on The Only Way Is Essex’s podcast with Billie Shepherd, where she was asked to clarify where things were at the time.
“So we’re not like ‘official’ official boyfriend and girlfriend, but we’re very much dating,” Priya explained.

But now, Priya echoed Aidan's sentiment, describing the fun summer they had together and acknowledging their friendship.
The business development manager from Surrey wrote: “I’ve had the most amazing experience this summer, and meeting Aidan was a special part of my Love Island journey. We’ve shared some lovely memories together and I’ll always be grateful for the time we spent getting to know each other.
“Since leaving the villa, and getting to experience life outside together, we’ve realised we’re better suited as friends. I have noting but love and respect for Aidan, and I’ll always look back on our time together very fondly. I genuinely wish him nothing but the very best for everything that’s to come.”
