Love Island UK winner Julia breaks down in tears as she addresses Lorenzo split

Love Island UK winner Julia Majchrzak has broken down in tears while speaking about her split from Lorenzo Alessi, just weeks after the pair were crowned champions of the hit ITV2 dating show.

Julia and Lorenzo won Love Island’s 13th series back in July, taking home the £50,000 prize after beating runners-up Jasmine Muller and Kavan Murphy in the final. Angelista Gunda and Simba Kudyiwa finished in third place.

The couple’s journey was a particularly speedy one, with Lorenzo entering the villa as a Day One Islander and Julia arriving as a Casa Amor bombshell on Day 23.

They quickly hit it off in Casa and made it all the way to the final, with the public ultimately giving them the win.

But fast-forward just over six weeks, and the pair have announced their decision to now go their separate ways.

Julia has now opened up about their split in an emotional interview with Polish publication Super Express, admitting the transition from the villa to normal life proved difficult for them.

She said: "It’s been hard for us this past week. Even the entire time we left the villa. But life in the villa is completely different from life outside.

"We’re disconnected from the outside world, from our phones… Two months removed from the world. We were getting to know each other there and getting along great, but it wasn’t real life—we were disconnected from everything.

"And then suddenly, when we entered real life, everything was quite overwhelming. But we felt the pressure; we tried to navigate it all together, but there’s a certain stress about it all."

The reality TV star went on to explain: "And we really decided that it was time to just go our separate ways and go our separate ways for now.”

The 26-year-old then became tearful as she admitted just how difficult the situation has been for her.

"What’s meant to happen will happen. This is all very fresh. No one else will understand me like he does, because we’ve been through it together, so we share that experience, but at this point, we’ve made this decision," Julia said.

Her emotional comments come after the former couple were pictured together at the National Television Awards on Tuesday (8 September), where they appeared to put on a united front despite having already called time on their relationship.

Julia has also addressed the break-up directly on Instagram in a post shared Thursday (10 September).

She captioned the carousel: "I attended the NTAs alongside Lorenzo, and it felt like the right way to celebrate our journey and the chapter we shared together.

"I’m incredibly grateful, and it was an honour to be there to support.

"Since leaving the villa, we’ve come to the decision to go our separate ways. Some chapters are special even if they’re not meant to last forever."

Julia added: "We shared an unforgettable experience together, and those memories will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m looking forward to everything this next chapter has in store for both of us."
