They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so, surely it should be reserved for the most delicious foods only?

And, what could be more of a treat than a big bowl of pasta? Yep, it might sound almost socially unacceptable to be tucking into fresh pasta before lunch time, but now there's such thing as Full English Tortellini.

No, really - this isn't a dream.

Brought to us by pasta delivery service Pasta Evangelists in collaboration with cult restaurant chain Eggbreak and Tabasco (you know, the spicy sauce), the dish comes as part of its new brunch inspired pasta range.

The Full English Tortellini comes stuffed with wild mushrooms and pork sausage, and is served with a "Bloody Mary" pangrattato infused with Tabasco sauce - meaning you'll get all the flavour notes of a fry up in each tasty filled pasta shell.

That's only one of the options on offer, though. For the veggies, there's also a Vegetarian Brunch Mac & Cheese, crafted with lashings of Grana Padano and a Tabasco Green Sauce.

Plus, there's also a Carbonara Porridge, made of orzo pasta and crispy pancetta fried in Tabasco Sauce, and our personal fave: an Egg, Bacon and Cheese Toastie Lasagne - featuring golden egg yolks, crispy pancetta and the smoky flavour of Tabasco Chipotle Sauce.

DROOLING.

The pasta comes as part of a kit that you knock together yourself at home, and they have been invented in celebration of World Pasta Day, which takes place on the 25th October.

Kits start at £12.28 for two pasta dishes of your choice, and can be ordered from the Pasta Evangelists website from 19th October to 1st November.

The collab comes after a recent survey commissioned by Tabasco found that a quarter of British millennial and Gen Z's, (aged 18-35) favour pasta as their leftover breakfast of choice.

Roberta d'Elia, Head Chef at Pasta Evangelists, says: "Who better than Eggbreak to transform our signature fresh hand-made pasta and traditional Italian ingredients into something playful for the brunch occasion?

"The range of pepper sauces from Tabasco Brand are a real breakfast staple in the UK so we worked with the team to expertly pair each recipe with one of their world-famous pepper sauces.

"We are even including a pair of Tabasco Brand minis in each delivery so customers can spice up their brunch as much as they wish."

Pasta Evangelists is a pasta kit delivery service, which promises "restaurant quality" pasta to your door, from a choice of 10 or more recipes, which change weekly.

The idea is you can knock together five star pasta in just five minutes.

If brunch isn't your thing, there's some non breakfast-y options on the menu over the next few weeks, including Lobster, Crab and Prawn Ravioli with a Sage Butter sauce, Mafalde with Beef Shin and Barolo Wine Ragu and Parpadelle with Wild Mushroom Sauce.

With kits like these, we've got a worrying feeling that pasta might just become our new brekky of choice....
