So this sounds amazing…

We're all turning to chocolate as a pick-me-up in these gloomy times, and thankfully, there's lots of brand new sweets for us to indulge on in time for Christmas.

And KitKat may have well and truly taken the biscuit (see what we did there) with their brand new Hazelnut Spread two-finger offerings. We're drooling just thinking about it.

As always, the bars consist of rich, delicious chocolate covering two fingers of crispy wafter biscuit - but these new offerings feature subtle notes of hazelnut spread in every bite.

It's also made using sustainably sourced cocoa - meaning it's perfect guilt-free snackto chow down on with your afternoon cuppa.

The bars come in packs of nine and are available for £1.50 at selected Asda stores.

The new Hazelnut Spread flavours comes a month after KitKat also launched a honeycomb flavour to dunk into your tea.

Amy Bennett-Inge, assistant brand manager for KitKat, said: "We've experienced huge demand for our two-finger KitKats this year and we know that fans love to try new flavours from the brand.

"We think our honeycomb and chocolate hazelnut spread varieties really hit the spot, and we're sure they'll become popular new additions to the range."

KitKat are not the only brand who are releasing new products in the UK, with Lindt's limited edition Candy Cane Lindor truffles finally available here in Blighty.

The indulgent sweets consist of deliciously smooth white Lindt chocolate, liberally filled with peppermint candy cane pieces and filled with a rich delectable centre.

In other chocolate news, new research has shown that drinking hot chocolate may boost your intelligence.

Very important research from the University of Birmingham found men who drank cocoa rich in flavanols (the antioxidants found in cocoa) performed better and faster than those who went without.

If you've never needed a reason to treat yourself to a hot choc, it's this.
