If we have one gripe about pigs-in-blankets, it's that they just don't go on for long enough. Know what we mean?

Luckily, some whizz in Aldi's food manufacturing department has come up with a solution for when a mouthful of bacony, sausagey pigs-in-blanket deliciousness just isn't enough - by creating a two-meter long one.

Brand new for 2019, the budget supermarket launched its extra large creation yesterday, meaning you can buy it in store now.

The Red Tractor approved novelty pig-in-blanket is the longest in the UK, measuring six foot five. That's the height of a basketball player.

Think of all the possibilities.

For just £4.99, you can serve this as part of your Christmas dinner spread for your guests, or simply eat it all on your own.

There will be no judgement here.

You could even buy it for your pigs-in-blanket-obsessed relative. What better gift, tbh.

Also landing on Aldi shelves this week is Halloumi Wrapped in Bacon (£2.49), Specially Selected Cranberry & Orange Gin Gammon Joint (£9.99), and great deals on salmon and chicken - just in time of your festive meal.

In further PIB news, this week ASDA launched a pigs-in-blankets fondue.

The supermarket's Butcher's Selection Pigs in Blankets with Cheese Fondue Centre sees the nation's favourite trimming paired with delicious melted camembert for the perfect festive party platter addition.

Costing £5, it could even be used as your Christmas Dinner starter if you're not a prawn cocktail kind of family.

The dish comes with 16 pigs in blankets and one gooey camembert, so you might have to pick up two if there's a lot of you.
