Put in your request for leave early this year before your colleagues and you can use this trick to get 18 consecutive days off work by using just nine days of annual leave.
Getting these key dates in April and May approved can result in almost three weeks off work for full pay.
Monday to Friday nine-to-fivers can pull off the trick by requesting holiday between the Easter Monday and May Day bank holidays (if your boss approves it).
Sorry: if you work bank holidays and weekends, it's unlikely the trick will work.
Taking the nine working days off in-between those dates means you could be off work from Good Friday, April 19th 2019 until after the May Day bank holiday on Tuesday, May 7th 2019.
The hack doesn't work every year - last year, the dates weren't close enough to pull it off - but this year the holidays are close enough to do it.
Three bank holidays within a three-week period: Good Friday, Easter Monday, and May Day, when combined with the weekends will give you just over half a month off work.
Most workers in Britain are entitled to 28 days of annual leave per year but with some planning, you can beat the system and more than double your leave - taking four days of leave after the last May bank holiday and before the following weekend will also get you nine days of leave.
Often holiday is allocated on a first come, first served basis, so let your boss know your plans before your colleagues cotton on.
