Netflix fans urged to watch these shows after watching ‘thriller of the century’ with horrifying twist

Fans have been obsessed with the latest must-watch series and are now looking for another to pass the time

We've all been there - the TV screen fades to black and you're left idly scrolling through streaming platforms trying to find another show to fill the void now your favourite is over.

Some people simply opt to go right back to the start and rewatch the series over (and over, and over), while others want to find something similar.

Viewers have been on the edge of their seats thanks to a gripping Netflix thriller called His & Hers, with some dubbing it the 'thriller of the century'.

High praise indeed, and a tough act to follow.

The series stars Marvel's Tessa Thompson and The Walking Dead's Jon Bernthal as an estranged couple, brought back together by a gruesome murder.

It's an adaptation of a novel by the same name, written by Alice Feeney in 2020, and despite leaving viewers with some questions, has received rave reviews.

Looking for something else? Fans are recommending the following shows to scratch that itch. They're all available to stream on Netflix right now.

Behind Her Eyes

If you love a creepy book adaptation, you'll adore this one.

It's a starring role for U2 star Bono's daughter, Eve Hewson, and she plays the role of Adele, the mysterious wife of a psychiatrist.

Behind Her Eyes was adapted from a psychological thriller of the same name, written by Sarah Pinborough and published in 2017 to rave reviews, so fans had high hopes for the onscreen translation.

It tells the story of single mum Louise (Simona Brown), who gets caught up in an illicit affair with her boss, David (Tom Bateman).

To make matters worse, as well as having an affair Louise decides to befriend David's wife, Adele.

It goes about as well as you might expect with 'horrifying' mind games and a shocking cliff hanger that left fans pleading for a second series - but for anyone who's read the book, they'll know it follows the plot and that's it for the source material.

Good luck sleeping after this one.

Dark Winds

After a police drama with a difference? This is just the ticket.

Set in the 1970s, Dark Winds follows Tribal Police Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) and deputy Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon) as they police the Navajo Nation.

The scenery is stunning and it's a visually beautiful show, as the duo face a brutal double murder and question their own societal conflicts and beliefs.

Fans have called it 'grippingly beautiful', and it has also scored 100 percent from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

There is a total of three seasons so far, with trailers for the upcoming season showcasing what's to come.

The first season available on Netflix and the rest on NOW.

Fans hope the second will arrive on Netflix later this year.

Mr. Mercedes

If you're a Stephen King fan, you'll love Mr. Mercedes.

It's based on the novel of the same name, and tells the story of a serial killer (so far, so Stephen King).

He's a psychopathic murderer by the name of Brady Hartsfield, and is played by Harry Treadaway.

The killer attacks multiple people at a job fair, with Brendan Gleeson playing retired detective Bill Hodges, who is determined to get justice for the victims.

There's little evidence, but he won't let this one go.

There are three seasons to enjoy, and fans have called this 'incredible' and praised it as a 'faithful adaptation' to the books.

Run Away

The latest Harlan Coben adaptation has won fans over (Netflix)

Fans of a thriller will be very familiar with the work of author Harlan Coben, and this is the latest of his books to be adapted for Netflix.

Run Away was released on New Year's Day, so you're not too late to the party.

It stars Cold Feet actor James Nesbitt, Gavin and Stacey star Ruth Jones, and Harry Potter's Alfred Enoch.

Nesbitt plays Simon Greene, a desperate father trying to trace his missing daughter Paige (Ellie de Lange), who ran away from home six months ago.

When he finds her, like in any good thriller it sets off one horrifying event after another, and family secrets he'll wish had remained hidden.

There are eight episodes, and it tells the whole story in one go so no cliff hangers or multiples series needed.

There's also a new Coben thriller on the way, called I Will Find You.

The Sinner

If you want something to really sink your teeth into, The Sinner has several seasons to enjoy.

This psychological thriller features different cases each time, and delves into the why of what happened, rather than the how.

Detective Harry Ambrose is played by Bill Pullman, as he works to discover what caused the chain of events to occur.

The first season features Jessica Biel, with Gone Girl star Carrie Coon joining for the second.

There are four seasons, with the first three available on Netflix, however, it has been confirmed that there will not be a fifth.

Plenty to sink your teeth into!
