Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash sell £1.3m Pickle Cottage home and leave ‘imminently’

Stacey Solomon and her husband Joe Swash are officially saying goodbye to Pickle Cottage after selling their beloved £1.3 million Essex home.

The couple have confirmed they will be moving out 'imminently', bringing an end to five years at the property they lovingly transformed into their family home.

Stacey, 36, and Joe, 44, bought Pickle Cottage in 2021 and have shared plenty of its renovations with fans over the years.

The house has also played a huge part in their family life, with Stacey giving birth to daughters Rose, four, and Belle, three, there.

The couple also married in the grounds back in 2022.

So, understandably, leaving was never going to be a small decision.

"We are leaving and moving out of Pickle Cottage imminently, which I never thought I’d say," the couple revealed in an emotional Instagram video shared yesterday (2 September)

Stacey explained that they had waited before making the news public while they spoke to their children, friends and neighbours about the move.

"Leaving Pickle Cottage was a massive decision for us; we had a lot of people we needed to speak to, we needed to get the kids around to the idea and speak to all our friends and neighbours in the area," she said.

The family eventually found a buyer who fell for the property just as much as they had.

"We have just waited until someone amazing came along and fell in love with the cottage," she gushed.

Despite the move, Stacey made it clear that her affection for the house has not disappeared.

"Pickle Cottage is our dream house, as soon as we moved here, we fell in love with it, and I still love it so, so much," she said.

"It’s a really special place to us. I gave birth to both of the girls there, we got married there, it’s just so special to us."

So, why are they leaving?

Well, it all comes down to one thing: more space.

Stacey and Joe have been looking for somewhere with enough land to grow more vegetables, rescue animals and potentially bring horses and ponies back into their lives.

"We saw somewhere, and I was like, we could have a massive vegetable patch, and we could offer our land to animals who need it and stuff like that, we could bring the horses back there, the ponies, and we went to see it, and we fell in love," the couple explained.

The couple's new home is reportedly a much larger property, but it still needs plenty of work.

"We’re moving somewhere really, really different and it does need a lot of love, and I’m excited to do that all again," Stacey added.
