People being urged to watch terrifying Netflix show ‘during the daytime’ because it’s so scary

Horror fans are urging people to watch Netflix's newest documentary series - but warning that they haven't been able to sleep afterwards.

Most of us know that horrible feeling of finishing watching a scary movie, waking up in the middle of the night and then thinking your coat rack is actually a ghost.

Unless you're a true hardcore horror viewer, it's a universal fact that it's best to steer away from the genre at night time unless you want to be on edge for hours when you're trying to get to sleep.

And this new TV show is seemingly taking it to a new level, as even the most dedicated spooky fans have been left unsettled.

We're talking about True Haunting - a paranormal series about real life hauntings, as documented by the people who survived them.

From horror director James Wan, it delves into two different tales across five episodes: Eerie Hall and This House Murdered Me.

Eerie Hall follows a college student haunted by a spirit with a connection to his past, while This House Murdered Me tells the story of a family terrorised by supernatural entities while renovating their Victorian home.

The second story was so harrowing that real life paranormal experts Ed and Lorraine Warren, on whom The Conjuring franchise is based, even turned up.

The show is a blend of dramatisations and scripted reenactments with first-hand interviews from the people who experienced the paranormal activity.

True Haunting has earned mixed reviews since it debuted, but viewers have one thing in common - and that's how freaked out they were after watching it.

As we say, Netflix fans have been warning others not to watch it at night time and admitting that it truly 'rattled them'.

One Twitter user penned: "Watch during daylight. There is no way I am turning off lights and watching this at night."

While a second agreed: "I binged it today... one word? GOOSEBUMPS!! The first story freaked me out" and a third penned: "Scared me pretty damn good but I LOVED IT!"

"Just watched that True Haunting on Netflix, f**king sh**tting myself now. I claim no negative energy," wrote a panicked fourth person.

And a fifth advised: "Pro tip: don’t watch that show True Haunting before bed."

Some else chimed in with: "True Haunting on Netflix is one of the scariest documentaries I've seen in a long time. I'm a huge scream queen, and have probably watched every horror doc out there, but this one rattled me. #truehaunting #Netflix."

And another fan agreed: "As a horror film fanatic who NEVER gets nightmares (after watching scary movies) I will tell u all, watching two episodes of that Netflix show 'true haunting' ABSOLUTELY gave me nightmares. I’m way too grown for that omg."

"If you like Horror watch 'True haunting' RIGHT NOW!! Gave me the creeps," added someone else.
