Sharon Osbourne has sad response to daughter Kelly Osbourne weight loss backlash

Some people accused Sharon of 'hypocrisy'

Sharon Osbourne has said she feels 'sorry' for people trolling her daughter Kelly, who she said 'can't eat' as she grieves her dad Ozzy.

During a recent appearance (10 December) on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Piers played a clip of Kelly, 41, who recently taking to Instagram to respond to people commenting on her appearance and shut down claims she's taking Ozempic.

She began: "So I'm just gonna say it. To the people who keep thinking that they're being funny and mean by writing comments like, 'Are you ill?', or 'Get off Ozempic', or 'You don't look right'.

"My dad just died. And I'm doing the best that I can. And the only thing I have to live for right now is my family.

"And I choose to share my content with you and share the happy side of my life, not the miserable side of my life. So to all those people, f**k off."

Black Sabbath star Ozzy passed away aged 76 earlier this summer in July, with his cause of death announced as cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease.

The programme then cut back to Piers and the 73-year-old X Factor veteran, with the former laughing as he remarked: "That is an Osbourne! What do you feel like when you hear that?"

Sharon replied: "I just, it's just, she's right. You know, she's right.

"And if she's happy that she can't eat, well, she's not happy because she's lost her daddy, but she can't eat right now, she doesn't."

Piers then asked: "What do you think about people who just troll Kelly or whoever it may be who's going through obviously unbearable grief? You had it yourself, right, in the last few years."

"Yeah, all the time. It's a shield for people that are unhappy," Sharon said. "And jealousy and people's perception of somebody else.

"How many times have we been wrong about somebody, you know, because of our perception and we haven't even met them, and we go, 'a**ehole' or whatever, and they actually turn out to be great people."

She added: "We do it, but you and I don't take the point where we spend a second wasting a second of our lives in writing something about them.

"You know, going on their site, taking the time, writing, it's like that's a lot of effort goes into that, and I just feel sorry for people."

Social media users were quick to point out certain holes in Piers and Sharon's seemingly virtuous statements, given the fact both of them have publicly done the exact thing they critiqued.

Now, that's not to say you should fight fire with fire, but people couldn't help but note the apparent 'hypocrisy', with one X user writing: "'You & me wouldn't waste our time doing that.' Not an ounce of self-awareness between them; this is exactly what they both do."

A second slammed: "So you want sympathy now, #KellyOsbourne? Really? You and your mother have made a career out of being vicious, mean-spirited commentators—especially toward women you’ve never met, including the Duchess of Sussex. You showed her no grace, no empathy, not even basic humanity."

"Imagine two trolls Piers Morgan and Sharon Osborne talking in this video about how Sharon feels sorry for trolls because they are unhappy, jealous people who troll people they’ve never met, and those people could be nice people when you meet them," hit out another. "Can she really not see her hypocrisy?"

And a final X user added: "I can't believe Piers asked that question with a straight face."
