Angelina Jolie has revealed her unexpected plans to leave America and be ‘nomadic for a while,’ explaining that she ‘doesn’t really plan to have a base’.
The 51-year-old American actress issued rare comments about her six children in a new interview with L’Officiel on Wednesday (9 September).
For those who need a reminder, Jolie and her ex-husband Brad Pitt share Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and 18-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
And now they’re all adults; the Hollywood star is looking forward to enjoying some time to herself, traveling, and getting out of the United States.

The Maleficent star told the outlet: “I really love and am looking forward to more connection and community. I’m not somebody who vacations or shops or things like that.
“I envision more field work, more travel, and just being out in the world. Get my motorcycle back, get back in a plane.”

She added: “That’s definitely what my kids want! They had Mom when Mom needed to be Mom. Now, they’d like me to call them from Tunisia, having just landed a plane to meet with local artists.”
When quizzed on where she’s going to be spending her time now, the actress said: “Out of the States more, I think,” as she outlined that her hope for her sustainable fashion enterprise, Atelier Jolie, was ‘always to be global’.
Launched in late 2023, Atelier Jolie’s HQ is located in New York City.
She mused: “Brazil might become the first space that we open outside of the US. The idea would be to visit the different locations around the world and meet local artists and makers.”
Adding: “I’m going to get back to doing more hands-on work with my foundation in Cambodia and my fieldwork. I don’t really plan to have a base.
“I’d like to have a home base for my family, a place where some of the mom stuff and the family photos are. And then I’d like to be a bit nomadic for a while. My home in Cambodia will also be a residency a few months out of the year for Khmer culture.”

During the interview, Jolie also made rare comments about her children and their differing personalities.
She gushed that ‘they’re definitely individuals, ’ which makes her ‘very proud’ because ‘one of the most important things, I think, is to basically not get in their way’.
Jolie said: “As a parent, you try to do many things, but you also try to not get in the way of this human being who has a life separate from yours and so much potential in their own mind. You want to make sure that you support them.”
It comes after Jolie and Pitt’s daughter Shiloh, 20, unexpectedly appeared as a background dancer in K-pop star Dayoung's 'What's a Girl to Do' music video.
She kept her identity a secret by auditioning using her stage name, 'Shi,' and got away with it so well that even those who hired her had no idea she was the daughter of Brangelina!
