North West’s piercings have sparked a debate online, with many people just now realising that some of them are real.
The 13-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West isn’t afraid to push boundaries when it comes to her unique personal style and creative expression - something her mum has openly encouraged.
However, most fans were previously under the impression that the teen’s body modifications are all fake, something that’s seemingly been disproven recently by recent photos and a New York Post article.
It’s believed that while the rest of her piercings are stick-ons, the dermal ones on her fingers are reportedly real.

She debuted the first one on her middle finger last September, with more seemingly popping up as time has gone on; however, it’s unclear how many of them are real.

As explained by Healthline, dermal piercings are also known as single-point piercings because they don’t have a separate entry and exit point for jewelry, unlike traditional piercings.
They stay in place thanks to a small anchor placed under the skin to hold the jewelry.
While they are popular and versatile, they also come with complication risks, such as infection, displacement, and rejection.
Dermatologist Corey Hartman, founder and medical director of Skin Wellness Dermatology, told the Post: “Long term, these piercings can lead to hypertrophic scars, hyperpigmentation, disfigurement and loss of function of the body part where the piercing is done, particularly in patients with highly melanated skin, like North West.”
One X user wrote: “I always thought North West didn't have any body piercings, that those things were just stuck on, until I saw the scars left from the piercings... She's only 13 years old…”
While a second brutally questioned, “What the f*** are her parents even doing???”
A third penned: “Moms have to be firm with kids and say no to them sometimes. It's for their own good, really,” while a fourth rightly pointed out: “She has two parents.”

A fifth added: “Omg I thought these were glued on. How stupid. She’s going to have craters in her skin.”
A sixth chimed in with: “How does she even get to do all these at her age. These are bad decisions.”
And a seventh added: “say what you want about her music and outfits but this is genuinely crazy, minors should not be getting play piercings or piercings THIS prone to rejection.”
However, others jumped in to defend the teen and her parents, with one writing: “A lot of the weird/inappropriate comments about North West are from elder Gen Z subconsciously realizing that youth culture is moving on from them.”
A second reasoned: “Ok yeah a reputable piercer would’ve told her no. That’s bad. But also some small hand scars are not the end of the world.”
