Kim Kardashian might be one of the most photographed women on the planet, but somehow it’s the smallest things that seem to spark the biggest debate.
That’s the case whether it be a hairstyle, a tiny accessory, or her kid doing what kids do: experimenting with their look.
If you’ve been online lately, you’ll know the comment sections have been rampant with gossip, as usual. People have opinions about everything, but when it’s Kim and her daughter, North West, these situations get looked at as if through a microscope.
Talking about North’s new look, which includes blue hair, piercings, braids, fake tattoos, and even a diamond ‘shark teeth grill’, everyone’s been commenting their own takes — as if they’re convinced they know what’s going on behind the scenes.

In a new episode of the Khloé in Wonder Land podcast with Khloe Kardashian, Kim finally spoke out after backlash over North West’s controversial new look to address everything, and she didn’t sugar-coat it.
She said: “I'm just not a judgmental person like that, so I try not to pay attention to it…But, I think that no one knows unless they're in my shoes of what I'm dealing with and how we have to manage certain things from the outside world or even close in our life, that we have to go through together.”
What really seems to be getting under people’s skin is the idea that Kim is too relaxed about North’s style choices, with critics suggesting she’s trying to be her daughter’s ‘best friend’. Kim shut that down immediately.
“I think like the one misconception that people might have is like, ‘Oh, she's trying to be her bestie and lets her get away with a lot.’ Like, no. Nory actually has a lot of rules. The one area is I do let her express herself and I do let her do that. I love her for that and she would do it, you know, regardless.”

According to the reality TV star, this isn’t some sudden ‘phase’ North has entered. It’s who she’s always been.
She added: “It's funny like people are like, ‘Oh, this blue hair, all of this all of a sudden or like her fake piercings that she puts up or her, you know, I have pictures of her when we're in first grade, prek, where she'd come with like a fake septum ring and she has her green braids and she has pink braids and but she's always loved the colored braids in her hair since she was little.”
Kim also spoke about how closely involved she is in North’s day-to-day life, explaining that her eldest daughter is homeschooled and that she’s hands-on with her learning. From budgeting exercises to creative projects, Kim says she’s focused on nurturing what her daughter naturally gravitates towards, rather than trying to flatten her personality for public comfort.
