You may think Kim K's daughter has all the pocket money in the world, so why would she be asking for money online?
North West, who is the eldest of Kim and her ex-husband Kanye West's four children, regularly posts from the account @kimandnorth on TikTok, which is 'managed by an adult' and boasts over 20.7 million followers.
Meanwhile, over on her more recently-launched Instagram, North has over 1.8 million followers.
Now, Kim recently joined her daughter for an Instagram Live chat, and opted to stay off camera, but spoke out when North urged: "You should just show your face, because . . . I don't know. I want some money!"

Clearly taken aback by the request, Kim then responded: "What? No, we don't ask - no, no, no."
The SKIMS founder, who is reportedly worth over $1.9 billion according to Forbes, then asked her pre-teen daughter what she meant, prompting her to explain: "Because, TikTok Live, like..."
Kim took no time explaining to North that she was on an Instagram Live, not TikTok.

For context, TikTok allows viewers to send virtual gifts during live streams, which are converted into 'Diamonds' and added to creator earnings, often with a 50% commission taken by the platform, so it's understandable why North got confused.
"This isn't TikTok Live, this is Instagram. So you were, like, kind of messed up for a second," she said, later adding with a laugh: "I thought you were asking me for something."
Some critics were up in arms over the request, with one X user slamming: "Why is North West asking for money when she should be the one giving out money? What's wild is people will give her money."

A second hit out: "It’s so crazy to me that people give money to famous people who don’t even know you exist."
"At 12 years old, her place is in a playground, not in front of a camera begging for money," slammed a third.
Others, however, took the opportunity to congratulate Kim's response with a fourth praising: "Parenting done right, sir."

"She's right, they don't need it, her mum got plenty of it," pointed out a fifth as a sixth theorised: "Her current annual allowance is probably more than what most Americans make a year. Rare W Kim."
Another echoed: "Fair play to Kim K, she seems down to earth."
And a final X user pointed out: "She’s still a kid. All these comments should be directed to the parents and not her. She does what her parents allow her to do. She’s just 12."
