Millie Bobby Brown’s baby announcement was the celebrity bombshell no one saw coming this week.
Yesterday, she took to Instagram to reveal that she and husband Jake Bongiovi had welcomed a ‘sweet baby girl’ after adopting.
"This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption," the Stranger Things star said.
"We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.

"And then there were 3. Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi."
The 21-year-old's news took many people by surprise – and not everyone had particularly positive things to say about the newly-expanded family.

“I just think at 21 you still have A LOT of maturing to do,” one person wrote on Reddit.

“Taking on responsibility to parent and care for a baby is not something I could've ever done as a 21 year old. I remember myself when I was 21, I was a f**king idiot and definitely not fit to be a parent.”
They added: “But if she feels like she's up for it then all the power to her.”
Someone else agreed: “21 is pretty young to be adopting a child. I do wonder if most couples at that age would be turned away or added to a list to wait for a few years, or if this is fairly common.”
A third said: “Becoming a parent at 21 is definitely not a nice, peaceful life lmao.”

Another argued you need ‘emotional maturity to be a good parent’, saying: "You’re just more likely to be less emotionally mature if you’re younger.”
The topic clearly sparked a huge debate, as not everyone felt the couple had made an unwise decision given their age.
One commented: “Good for them. I don’t quite understand the ‘she should be at the club’ comments I keep seeing on Twitter. Some people want kids young, it’s not like they can’t support a kid on their current combined incomes - lol.”

One other also wrote: “My mom had her first child at 21 and did well. I am 34 and can’t barely take care of me. Ultimately we need to stop universalising our own experiences and infantilising young adults.”
What’s more, Brown and Bongiovi both come from families where parents have had children at a younger age – and have previously hinted about wanting to follow suit.
“My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19,” she said on the SmartLess podcast back in March.
“And you know, it's been my thing since before I met Jake.

“Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me. And my nan, my grandmother, was a huge part of my life."
On the Call Her Daddy podcast, she also mentioned how Bongiovi came from a similar home.
"His parents got married really young - they’re high school sweethearts,” Brown explained.
