Lizzo has admitted to using Ozempic for weight loss following her major transformation that's left fans reeling.
For quite some time now, the 37-year-old 'Truth Hurts' rapper has been accused of using the FDA-approved prescription drug originally prescribed to people with type 2 diabetes.
Despite shutting down the speculations after sharing a candid look at her fitness regime online, trolls doubted the hard work was done in the gym and believed it was due to the 'weight loss jab'.

"When you finally get Ozempic allegations after five months of weight training and calorie deficit," Lizzo wrote on social media at the time.
However, months later, Lizzo has now confessed to trying the drug during yesterday's episode (19 June) of Trisha Paytas' Just Trish podcast.

She explained that she started to take Ozempic at the beginning of her weight loss journey back in 2023.

But the singer later came to the conclusion that the GLP-1 medication wouldn't help her in the long term.
"It’s not easy," Lizzo said, explaining that she had 'tried everything' to lose weight and ended up focusing on counting calories instead of taking a weekly jab.
"I tried everything. Ozempic works because you eat less food, yeah? So if you eat right, it makes you feel full," she said, before adding: "But if you can just do that on your own and get mind over matter, it's the same thing."

She continued: "It’s just the science for me, calories in versus calories out.
"Ozempic works because you eat less food. That’s it. It makes you feel full, so if you can just do that on your own and get mind over matter, it’s the same s**t."
Host Trisha then asked how the Grammy award-winner managed to control her food intake without a shot.
Lizzo then credited changing her workout routine and explained that she was no longer vegan or eating plant-based, which she has done for 'like 10 years'.

"When I was vegan, I was consuming a lot of fake meats, I was eating a lot of bread, I was eating a lot of rice, and I had to eat a lot of it to stay full, but really I was consuming like 3,000 - 5,000 calories a day," she shared.

The star went on to claim that, now, she opts for whole foods like beef, chicken and fish to feel full as opposed to 'putting a lot of fake things in there that wasn’t actually filling me up'.
It was during a trip to Japan that Lizzo started adding meat back into her diet.

Lizzo added meat back into her diet during a trip to Japan.
"I heard the Japanese diet was the healthiest diet in the world," she said. "My body was so happy. My body was like, 'more, more please'. And I was like, 'OK, this is what my body likes'.
"I don’t like to tell people too much about releasing weight like what I did because I don’t want people to do what I did and it doesn’t work for them. Everybody’s body is different."
While Lizzo made the choice to stop taking Ozempic early on in her weight loss journey, she declared that she didn't see it as 'cheating' for those who have taken the medication to help with losing weight.
"It's not easy. It's a drug to help somebody with something they're struggling with," she explained. "I think people [...] it's their way of being fat phobic when you're telling someone they're cheating."
