Brooklyn Beckham’s brutal statement about mum Victoria has unexpectedly positive outcome for her

Fans have rushed to social media to share their reactions to the bizarre consequence of Brooklyn's bombshell claims

Keeping up with all the latest updates in the Beckham family drama probably feels like a full-time job for pop culture fanatics.

In case the viral saga has somehow passed you by, years of speculation and rumours online regarding Brooklyn Beckham's alleged rift with his parents, David and Victoria, came to a head on Monday (19 January) when he shared a series of bombshell claims about his family.

In his statement, the 26-year-old claimed: "I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.

"I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life."

Since then, we've seen countless memes, fellow celebrities weighing in with their two cents, Brooklyn's ex-partners speaking out, and even a psychic's prediction getting resurfaced. In short, it's a PR nightmare.

Now, despite the headline-making news, Brooklyn's statement has seemingly benefited mum Victoria in quite a unique way.

Victoria, who was one-fifth of the Spice Girls before launching a solo career in 2000, has quickly soared to the number one spot on the Irish iTunes chart with her single titled 'Not Such An Innocent Girl', which was originally released decades ago in 2001.

It also sits in the number two slot in the UK.

This means that all five of the Spice Girls, which include Mel B, Melanie C, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell, will have all had a number one track in the charts.

Rushing to social media to share their shock over the news, one X user quipped: "Victoria Beckham possibly getting her first solo number 1 because her son sl*gged her off is jokes!"

A second added: "THIS IS NOT A DRILL! VICTORIA BECKHAM IS NUMBER 1!"

A third chimed in: "This country quite often, rightly or wrongly, gets a lot of stick, but if we wake up tomorrow and Victoria Beckham is number 1 on iTunes, I will wholeheartedly feel like the UK has had its redemption moment."

A fourth questioned: "Wait, guys, I don’t know how the charts work. Is this it??? Is this Victoria Beckham’s first number one???"

Someone else gushed: "Victoria Beckham at number one on iTunes in the UK following the recent drama. I love to see all us Spice fans coming together. Such a genuine banger as well. VB was royally robbed of a solo number one. It would be insane if we could get her there now, 25 years later."

And a final fan echoed: "Victoria Beckham at #1 on iTunes in 2026. What a time to be alive."
