Emily Thorne's Revengenda was the stuff of television scheming history, her carefully calculated plot to take down the Grayson family - namely Victoria Grayson - we will never forget.

Revenge ran for four seasons on US channel ABC from 2011-2015 and aired on E4 in the UK, and it gained a pretty cult following in the process.

So when news of a reboot of Revenge was announced, it's safe to say we were intrigued.

Even more so as according to Deadline there are rumours that an original cast member is set to bridge the gap between old and reboot.

While there's no news on who exactly that would be, OG some fans have been desperately hoping that an appearance from tech genius Nolan Ross, played by the awesome Gabriel Mann, will happen.

The actor, who most recently starred in Renee Zellweger's What/If Netflix series, incidentally helmed by Revenge creator Mike Kelley, has done nothing to quash rumours after retweeting his former co-star Nick Weschler's message.

"Holy sh*t right?" Nick, who played Jack Porter, wrote alongside a link to an article on the announcement of the reboot.

"This better be the Nolan spinoff we've been wanting. But I hope you and Emily will make guest appearances," wrote one excited fan in response.

"So the original character has gotta be our guy Nolan right?! @Gabriel_Mann But we need you and @EmilyVanCamp to show up. I gotta see your beautiful faces again and I need to know how Amanda and Jack are doing all these years later!" another added.

Emily Vancamp, who played Emily Thorne aka Amanda Clarke in the first outing and has since joined the Marvel Universe as agent Sharon Carter, is yet to address news of the intended remake.

And neither has her husband Brit actor Joshua Bowman, who starred as her onscreen love interest Daniel Grayson.

The couple, who met on the set of the series, recently celebrated eight years together and got married last year, which her former Revenge castmates also attended.

What will the reboot be about?

The new project, which has original Revenge creator Mike Kelley and writer Joe Fazzio attached, is set to focus on an immigrant from Latin America intent on taking down a pharmaceutical dynasty that destroyed their family.

They will be guided by an original character after they arrive in Malibu to hunt down members of the corporation whose insatiable greed lead to the murder of her biochemist mother, as well as a global epidemic.

Who will it star?

Surviving characters from the first outing include Emily/Amanda, Nolan, Jack, and even Ashley Davenport (played by British actress Ashely Madewke) who left in season two.

It's highly unlikely the incredible Madeleine Stowe's powerful matriarch Victoria Grayson will be able to make a comeback after she was shot dead by her one-time love and Emily/Amanda's dad David Clarke (played by James Tupper), who also died in the series finale.

Emily/Amanda was able to go off and live a happy life with her husband Jack, but with a creepy twist - after being shot by Victoria she received a heart transplant, believed to be that of her nemesis.

The most likely character to return to the reboot is Nolan, who in the series finale was approached by another person seeking revenge after helping his BFF Emily/Amanda get hers.

When will it air?

The series, which was originally inspired by Alexandre Dumas novel The Count of Monte Cristo, is currently in development at ABC.

But there's no news on when it will air or confirmation of the actors attached to the reboot.

We're excited to find out if the Revengenda will continue and the famous red marker will get a second outing.
