Love Island's Luca says Gemma has 'changed' as they respond to split rumours

Love Island's Luca says Gemma has 'changed' as they respond to split rumours

The pair appeared on GMB today.

Love Island runners up, Gemma Owen and Luca Bish appeared on Good Morning Britain today (8 August), where they responded to split rumours since leaving the villa.

The pair ruled out any speculation that they could be on the rocks, with Luca explaining Gemma 'had changed' since leaving the show.

You can watch the moment below:

When asked if either of them seem a little different to each other, now they've returned to the UK, Luca said: "You've changed a little.

"For the better, she's come more out of her shell. When I saw you with your mum and stuff."

"I'm super close to my mum," Gemma added.

The pair also addressed whether they are 'official' yet, with Gemma, 19, explaining: "We're pretty much official, we've just not got a label on it."

Looking at Luca, 23, she added: "That's up to you now," with Luca promising he 'will do it'.

Speaking to ITV after the series finale aired, Luca explained how he might ask Gemma to be his girlfriend. He said: "There is a plan and it will hopefully happen in the next month and I’m sure you’ll see it unfold. It’ll be something to do with a swimming pool. "

And Gemma chimed in: "He knows me well enough now to not do anything too cringe! So, I trust him and I’ll let him get on with it. I’m sure I’ll love it, whatever it is."

The couple finished as runners up.

The couple also denied any rumours of a tiff after the reunion show – which was filmed earlier in the week and aired on ITV2 on Sunday (7 August) evening.

And although they were all smiles on the way into the ITV studios, they left later that night looking particularly down.

While Gemma held her hands up to dodge the camera, the Mirror reports that a photographer shouted to Luca: "You've got your hands full, there."

The former fishmonger, who was wearing bright white trainers and an all-black ensemble, is said to have replied: "Oh don't mate, she's got the right hump with me!"

But the pair shut down the speculation during their appearance on GMB, however, explaining the situation had been misread.

On Sunday evening, Luca and Gemma appeared alongside the rest of the Love Island 2022 cast for the reunion show.

And there was a bit of drama between two islanders - Coco and Summer - who got into a heated argument while being interviewed. You can read more on that here.
