Love Island's Shakira Khan uses this MAC lipstick as a blush and it actually makes so much sense
If you’ve ever wondered how former Love Islander Shakira Khan achieves her signature sun-kissed glow, it turns out one of her fave beauty tricks is hiding in the lipstick section.
Last year's Love Island runner-up, Shakira, shared her everyday makeup routine on TikTok for the Love Island Debrief podcast, which she now hosts alongside fellow series 12 finalists Toni Laites and Yasmin Pettet.
During this video, she revealed the unexpected hack she uses to create a lifted, glowy look that we’re already scrambling to add to our summer beauty routine.

Instead of reaching straight away for a traditional blush, Shakira first used a MAC lipstick in the shade Sweet Deal on her cheeks to create a flushed, bronzed finish.
Explaining the look she was going for, she told viewers: “I want it to be a little bit more sexy than girlie.”
The trick isn’t just about the product either; it’s all in the placement.
Sharing her top tip, Shakira explained that you should “place it quite high just above where the bronzer was and a bit on the nose” before blending it out.
The result is a gorgeous, sun-kissed glow that lifts the face while still looking natural and effortless.
If anyone knows a thing or two about serving glam, it’s Shakira.

We genuinely can’t believe it’s been a whole year since we first fell in love with her the minute she stepped into the Love Island villa for series 12. While plenty of contestants are remembered for their romances, it wasn’t the conventional love story that made fans fall for Shakira.
Instead, viewers became obsessed with her friendship alongside fellow Islands Toni and Yasmin. Their bond quickly became one of the defining storylines of the series, with fans affectionately naming the trio ‘The Big 3’.

The lipstick hack she shared was just one of the standout moments from her latest tutorial as she shared her whole routine with viewers.
She began her routine by prepping her skin with the cult-favourite Weleda Skin Food and used YSL’s All Hours Foundation for a flawless base.
To add definition, she used the Too Faced Contour Stick before layering on another blush fave, Nars’ iconic Orgasm blush, helping to build warmth and add dimension across the cheeks.
For lashes, Shakira skipped the strip lashes and relied on MACStack Mascara to create volume and length, while Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Filter Setting Spray locked everything into place at every stage and maintained that radiant finish.
