UK to open new resort with 20 pools and the country's first indoor beach

With over 35 water slides and a spa, the UK's new resort will also feature an 'all-season beach'

The UK is set to open a new resort with a mega 20 swimming pools and the country's first indoor beach.

The £250 million wellbeing resort will have over 35 slides and the stunning 'all-season beach' will feature a wave machine - making it seem even more real when you're actually just inside in the middle of winter.

Therme Manchester has had us all taking for quite a while now after it was first announced back in 2020.

The all-season beach will also have a wave pool.

Planning work has already begun and the new resort is going to be situated right by the Trafford Centre - so you can mooch around the shops beforehand or pick up a cute new bikini before dipping into the relaxation of the tropical paradise.

It will be connected to Manchester city centre via the Metrolink, as well as sitting just off the M60 motorway.

The new resort will boast its own on-site spa with thermal baths, mineral pools, as well as 30 saunas and steam rooms. Oh, and it will even feature a 'well-being garden' inspired by English meadows. What more could you want?

Therme Manchester will be the size of 19 football pitches.

And while there will be a fun, family area, there will also be a dedicated adults only section with indoor and outdoor pools, swim-up bars and fitness classes including yoga and pilates - sounds much better than going to the local gym, right?

This long list of features does mean it's going to take around two years to complete once they've started building, but it'll be worth it when you can lounge at the beach no matter the time of year.

Looking almost futuristic, the resort itself will have a 'pavilion style concept' of buildings connected for all the pools under a huge glass roof.

There will also be a spa with various treatments.

Therme Manchester is focusing on sustainability and will be using tech to make the place energy-efficient while having the 'freshest air and crystal-clear water'.

Describing their haven of slides, pools and relaxation, its website states: "Therme Manchester will be a one-of-a-kind destination that offers a fun and relaxing holiday at home while helping to boost the health and wellbeing of all who visit.

"At 28 acres, the size of 19 football pitches, Therme Manchester is expected to become one of the top three all-season water-based destinations in the world."

It's not yet known what the ticket prices will be to go to the wellbeing resort, but they do promise 'entry prices to suit every budget'.
