The Queen of the Netherlands' meeting with United States president Donald Trump has left people pointing out one particularly 'hilarious' moment.

Between bizarre body double conspiracies, wardrobe malfunctions and Trump seemingly being called 'daddy', the US president's brief trip to Europe for the NATO summit on Tuesday (24 June) has certainly been eventful.

But it was a moment involving the Dutch royal family that has really got everyone talking.

In the clip in question from the trip, which has since gone viral across social media, Trump and the King of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander, could be seen making small talk together and laughing while Queen Máxima smiled on after he arrived in the European country for the summit.

"That's the picture we want," Trump could be heard saying as King Willem-Alexander told him: "Well I hope you slept well!"

The 79-year-old Republican then replied: "It was great, the house is..."

As Trump smiled one last time before thanking everyone there, Queen Máxima appeared to mock the way his mouth moved before turning toward the cameras - something which people have rushed in to share their reactions to.

One Twitter user penned: "Queen Máxima of the Netherlands mocks Donald Trump in front of the cameras!"

"This is hilarious! I’ve never been a fan of our stiff monarchy, but Queen Máxima rocks it!" praised a second. "Treat him like a baby."

A third chimed in: "WAIT A MINUTE WAS QUEEN MÁXIMA OF THE NETHERLANDS MIMICKING DONAL TRUMP?"

"She is obviously mocking him," declared another.

Tyla has reached out to the Dutch royal household for comment.

And that wasn't the only thing Queen Máxima did that day which caught the attention of people online as photos from the NATO summit have left everyone saying the exact same thing.

As the group of world leaders from 32 countries posed for official snaps, it was Queen Máxima who really stood out from the bunch due to her unique and colourful choice of attire for the political occasion.

Donning a striking lime-green jumpsuit, it didn't take long for fans to gush over the bold fashion statement with some even dubbing her the 'Queen of NATO'.

"A group shot of the attendees at the NATO Summit! Queen Máxima is doing what she does best, and standing out in a rather lovely ensemble!" penned one Twitter user.

A second chirped: "Queen Máxima of the Netherlands dazzles at the centre of the group photo in The Hague during the NATO Summit. What a presence!"

Elsewhere during the summit, NATO's Secretary General Mark Rutte appeared to call Trump 'daddy' in a pretty bizarre moment as the US president compared Israel and Iran to ‘kids in a schoolyard' in a clip shared by ITV News.

The Republican leader said: "They fight like two kids in a schoolyard, you know, they fight like hell - you can’t stop them. Let them fight for about two or three minutes then it’s easier to stop them."

Laughing, Rutte chimed in with: "And then daddy has to sometimes use strong language to get (them to) stop."

Trump agreed, adding: "Strong language, every now and then you have to use a certain word."
