Donald Trump sparks bizarre ‘body double’ conspiracy during NATO appearance as people spot ‘unusual detail’

Social media theorists are back at it again - and this time, they're convinced the American President is using a body double

Donald Trump is no stranger to a conspiracy theory, and it seems like each week, the internet thinks up a new wild claim about the American President.

However, the latest theory to sweep social media may be the craziest one yet - and it’s bringing back the idea of a body double, so buckle in.

It comes after Trump’s wife Melania has been the centre of a years-long outlandish conspiracy that she gets ‘swapped out for a body double’ for public appearances.

Online sleuths claim an 'actress' was hired to play the 55-year-old during some official engagements because she no longer wishes to be seen in the open with her other-half, while others believe she's been 'swapped out' for safety reasons.

Wearing large sunglasses to hide her face and claims of changes in physical appearance are just some of the reasons the ‘fake Melania’ conspirators have pulled together.

And now, it seems her other half is now on their radar too.

On Tuesday (24 June) Trump attended a NATO summit in The Hague, alongside other world leaders.

Before sitting down for a formal dinner, the attendees gathered for a big group photo with King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands. But eagle-eyed social media users have spotted an unusual detail when it comes to the American President’s appearance in the snap.

Someone on X (formerly Twitter) pointed out that Trump looks shorter than usual and sparked the theory that a body double, or ‘mini Trump,’ had been sent in his place.

Yes, you read that right.

The social media user penned: “POTUS sends 'mini-TRUMP' to The Hague to meet 'suited' Zelenskyy & friends” - and some of the replies already seem to be convinced.

Someone wrote: “That... that is not Trump,” with another agreeing: “I’ve never seen him smile like that”.

Delving deep into the bizarre conspiracy, another person chimed in with: “He’s only 3'' shorter than DJT.”

They added: “If they didn’t want it to be obvious to us (and to whoever was planning on trying to take him out at the NATO meeting), they would’ve had him wear lifts… and they would’ve probably been looking for another body double now.”

“It is really easy to dig into if people only took the time to check it out…,” quipped another believer.

Someone else tweeted: “It’s funny you posted this. When I saw a video from earlier today I was wondering why he was so much shorter.”

And another wrote: “I had just watched the video and it was immediately obvious.”

However, of course, not everyone is on board with the odd sentiment, and others have flocked to the post to shut down the theory.

One person pointed out that ‘he’s standing next to tall dudes’, as the Netherlands monarch to his right and other leaders in the picture are known to be quite tall.

“I think he just looks short here because the King of the Netherlands is 6'5. Let's not get carried away,” reasoned someone else.
