Donald Trump breaks out in dance during Malaysia trip leaving everyone confused over one detail

The US President, 79, showed off his signature move as he arrived in Malaysia on Sunday (26 October)

Donald Trump has sparked yet another debate - but this time it's not about his $300,000,000 ballroom or latest policies.

It's actually all to do with his dance moves for a change.

The US President, 79, arrived in Malaysia on Sunday (26 October) to attend the annual summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The Republican joined leaders in the Southeast Asian country to sign a 'peace deal' between Thailand and Cambodia, who have a long-standing border dispute.

However, the moment that really caught people's attention was when Trump disembarked Air Force One shortly after landing in Kuala Lumpur for the events of the day.

He stepped off the plane and got quite the welcome from a group of performers who lined his walkway off the aircraft.

The President made his way straight over to the dancers and began throwing some moves of his own.

He decided to show the Malaysians his trademark dance move, which is pumping his fists out and bopping his head along.

However, it's usually accompanied by the Village People’s 1978 hit 'Y.M.C.A.' - rather than traditional Malaysian music.

The moment itself has quickly gone viral on social media and according to Bernama, it's already amassed more than 37.9 million views across several platforms.

But, as we say, people have been debating the moment, with some people convinced Trump was trying to teach the performers his signature dance - and failing.

While others thought he was actually trying to join in with their dance, and some people simply slammed the President for his 'awkward' moves.

One Twitter user questioned under the video: "Is he teaching them the dance moves?" while a second joked: "He was trying so hard to get them to do that dumb ass 'dance' and the Malays were just like:?"

And a third pointed out: "He’s doing one thing, they’re doing another in close proximity."

While others brutally penned: "Awkward, unapologetic, and somehow stealing the spotlight even while trying to fit in" and "That awkwardly jerking his arms isn’t dancing."

Someone else chimed in with: "Anyone else as embarrassed as I am.....watching trump doing those ridiculous dance (?) moves over seas? Oh good lord....there just are no words."

However, another pointed out: "He knows how to work a crowd. If that set the tone it should be a positive visit."

And someone else queried: "That's wonderful! Is that a native dance or are they just honouring the Trump Dance?"

"Trump kicks off his visit to Malaysia with a 'dance.' So cringe," one person penned.

With another user reasoning: "Am anti-Trump but disagree. Unironically this is nice and respectful to see. He's being silly and they're being earnest - with their cultural dance - but he's not being silly in a mocking way, just a human-connection way. The Malaysian dancers are clearly enjoying it."
