Once again, a bruise on Donald Trump's hand has 'reappeared' with many people online sharing their extremely varied speculations on the cause behind it.
Earlier this week on Tuesday (15 July), the 79-year-old Republican was photographed boarding Marine One at the White House on his way to Pittsburgh, speaking to the press ahead of the trip about Russian President Vladimir Putin.
One X user uploaded a zoomed-in image of Trump's right hand which visibly showed what appeared to be make-up applied just below his pointing and middle fingers.
"What is going on here?" they captioned the snap, prompting hundreds upon hundreds of people to weigh in.

Many agreed that it was, in fact, make-up on his skin - but they differed on the reason as to why he was wearing it in the first place.
Some wondered if it was to cover up a bruise from an IV.

"Possibly makeup covering a bruise. I wonder if he had an IV since it is close to a vein," penned a second X user, while a third echoed: "This looks like a bruise from a recent IV or injection - covered poorly with makeup."

A fourth speculated: "Daily IV treatment for something? Swollen ankles... congestive heart failure."
"Probably IV, he’s more than likely on quite a few health protocols to keep him healthy," agreed a fifth.
Others, however, reckoned it was simply down to Trump pushing 80 along with his old age paired with thinner aged skin and shaking hands all day.

"You ever shake hands all day long? Dude is 80," outlined a sixth.
A seventh declared: "Make-up to hide old person spot."
"Age. If you're lucky, you'll get to experience it someday, like some of us do," lamented an eighth.
Another hit out: "I’m no Trump fan, but Just a little PSA for the wildly confused folks zooming in on those mystery marks… yes, that’s foundation makeup covering up bruises on his hands. I do it too, especially when I’ve bumped into a countertop or some rogue furniture corner and don’t feel like explaining it 12 times a day.

"It’s not witchcraft. It’s concealer. Calm down."

And Grok, Elon Musk's AI chatbot, echoed: "That's Donald Trump's hand showing a bruise, likely from age-thinned skin or vigorous handshakes, poorly concealed with makeup.
"The uneven orange patch is his signature bronzer failing to blend, sparking endless speculation - but medically, it's probably just elderly bruising.

"No syphilis conspiracy needed."
White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, has since stated that the bruise is due to the president’s serial handshaking.
When asked if there were any medical reasons that could explain the bruise, Leavitt told the Daily Beast: "President Trump is a man of the people and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other President in history.
"His commitment is unwavering and he proves that every single day."
This is far from the first time Trump has been spotted with bruising on his hand as, back in February, he was seen with a bruise in the same area following a press conference with French President, Emmanuel Macron.
