Images of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's secret wedding ceremony in Windsor have been released - and Beatrice's dress is a vintage lover's dream.

The pair tied the knot in a small ceremony at The Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor on Friday, after their initial wedding date was cancelled due to coronavirus.

Two official photos have been released, one with the smiling couple pictured under a flower-covered archway, the other showing them pictured in front of the entrance alongside the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

Beatrice's gown breaks away from the traditions of other royal brides.

It's usually the custom at royal weddings for brides to have their wedding dresses bespoke-made by big name designers - just think of Kate Middleton's dress designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, Meghan Markle's Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy gown, or Princess Eugenie's dress by Peter Pilotto.

But Bea clearly wanted to borrow from the past on her big day. She opted for a stunning vintage dress, which was previously worn by her grandmother, The Queen.

Designed by Norman Hartnell - the creative brain behind the Queen and Princess Margaret's wedding gowns - the dress is described by Buckingham Palace officials as being "made from Peau De Soie taffeta in shades of ivory, trimmed with ivory Duchess satin, with organza sleeves."

The front, meanwhile, is "encrusted with diamanté and has a geometric checkered bodice."

Royal dressmaker Angela Kelly and designer Stewart Parvin were called in to work their magic on the dress, making small adjustments to the dress so that it fitted Beatrice like a glove.

In keeping with royal tradition, Beatrice also wore a tiara. She chose Queen Mary's fringe tiara - which matches the style the one the Queen wore on her own wedding day in 1947.

Edo and Beatrice said their vows at 11am at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at the Royal Lodge, Windsor alongside The Queen, Prince Philip and close family.

The Queen was pictured leaving the Royal Lodge - home to Prince Andrew and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson - on Friday afternoon, dressed in her finery.

According to Buckingham Palace, the wedding took place in accordance with government guidelines, and no more than around 20 guests were in attendance.

The Queen's granddaughter and her new husband Edo were originally meant to get married at the Chapel Royal, in St James's Palace, London, with 150 guests.

They were also supposed to welcome hundreds of friends and family members to Buckingham Palace on May 29th, but called off the reception due to the ongoing pandemic.

While it is thought Beatrice's parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Furguson, the Duchess of York, were both in attendance, it is not known whether her younger sister Princess Eugenie, 30, and brother-in-law Jack Brooksbank were there for the ceremony, too.

Beatrice started dating Edoardo back in September 2018, a month before Princess Eugenie's wedding.

They announced their engagement one year later, revealing Edo had proposed during a romantic getaway to Italy.

Edo - who has a four-year-old son, named Christopher, from a previous relationship - was engaged to American architect Dara Huang for three-and-a-half years, but they split up not long before he met Beatrice.

Meanwhile, Beatrice had previously dated Uber exec Dave Clark for ten years before calling time on their relationship back in 2016.

Congratulations to the royal bride and groom!
