As the wife of the President, you would expect to be seeing a lot of the First Lady, but Melania Trump is seemingly nowhere to be found.
The rumour mill has been swirling as to her whereabouts, after the wife of Donald Trump has disappeared from the public eye.
The First Lady has made just one documented public appearance in the last month, according to Newsweek, when she was photographed at the at the FIFA World Cup final at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
TV host Jimmy Fallon quizzed her whereabouts on Monday, August 17, when he pointed out that she hadn't been seen for 29 days.

He said: “Over the weekend, President Trump made a campaign stop in Long Island and Melania Trump did not travel with him."

“Yeah, people have noticed she’s been laying low. In fact, she hasn’t been seen in public for 29 days.”
He quipped: “Trump heard and was like, ‘Big deal. I haven’t seen her in private for two years.’”
However, the White House has insisted that the First Lady is actually busy working behind the scenes, just not in front of a camera.
On July 30, a White House Representative told the press that Melania has been working on reunifications for Ukrainian and Russian children who found themselves separated from their families by the war.
Her office confirmed that five children were reunited in the latest round.
They added that in mid-August, another child was reunited, bringing the total to 34.
Newsweek compared the diaries of several former First Ladies, to compare how much they were doing publicly within the same time frame of July 19 and August 18, while their husbands were in office.
Michelle Obama topped the list with seven public engagements, followed by Laura Bush with six, Jill Biden with five, and Hillary Clinton with four, compared to Trump's single appearance.

The outlet calculated that Melania has attended 34 public events so far in 2026, while the Daily Beast worked it out to be 36, if they looked at occasions where she was photographed.
The only other day she was seen publicly in July was for the Independence Day celebrations.
The important thing to note is that there is no set job description for the role of First Lady.
It is up to the individual how much they choose to do publicly, whether they choose to turn up to the opening of an envelope, or if they prefer to stay more private.
Melania is usually known to divide her time between Florida and New York where her son, Barron Trump, is enrolled in college, however 80 percent of her public appearances were in Washington.
A senior White House adviser told NBC News that the First Lady 'prioritizes results over appearances.'
Tyla has reached out to the White House for comment.
