With everyone desperate to know why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have chosen now to move back to the UK from California, one particular rumour is popping up more than others.
According to multiple outlets, sources have claimed that the Duchess of Sussex, 45, is returning to her entertainment roots and has been offered an acting job in the UK.
Australian outlet News.com.au was the first to report the unexpected news, cryptically sharing no further details about the ‘upcoming project’.
Journalist Tina Brown also wrote on her Substack on Friday (21 August), claiming that Meghan ‘has a job,’ as fans are guessing what exactly the alleged opportunity could be.

The news broke this week that the Duke, 41, and Duchess will move back to Harry’s home country later this month, with plans to live in a non-royal residence outside of London.
Reports say the royal couple has already enrolled their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, in British schools.
Meghan will continue to run her lifestyle brand, As Ever, from their new base, with the duo reportedly opting to keep their home in Montecito and another in Portugal after they relocate.

Before she met Harry in 2018 and retired from the showbiz sphere, the world knew Meghan for her acting roles, most notably starring as Rachel Zane in the US legal drama Suits from 2011 to 2018.
She also made appearances on shows including CSI: Miami and 90210, and movies like Get Him to the Greek and Remember Me.
Questions are already bubbling up about what it would look like if Meghan did return to our screens, as a non-working member of the Royal Family.
Professor Jonathan Shalit, a leading talent manager and chairman of InterTalent Rights Group told the Press Association that the actress would have no issue with going back to what she knows best.
He told the outlet: “If she wants to return to acting, I have absolutely no doubt there would be interest in her.
“Suits has had an extraordinary life beyond its original run. It continues to be discovered and rediscovered through streaming and repeats, so there is already an audience who know Meghan as an actress rather than simply as the Duchess of Sussex.
“Had she not married Harry, I think it is perfectly reasonable to assume that Suits would have been a very strong platform from which to pursue other major television and film roles.”

The expert gushed: “If Meghan decided tomorrow that she seriously wanted to act again, directors and producers would absolutely want to meet her and audition her.
“Would she automatically be handed every role she wanted? Of course not. Nobody is. But would doors open? Absolutely.”
The professor outlined that Meghan’s ‘enormous name recognition’ and ‘extraordinary international profile’ would draw attention from film producers.
He reasoned: “The question isn’t really whether Hollywood or the British television industry would have Meghan back. The question is whether Meghan wants to act again.
“If she does, I would be very surprised if we didn’t see her back on screen.”
