Footage shows terrifying reality of extreme slide which women are ‘banned’ from going on for important reason

One of Area 47's water slides boasts speeds of up to a staggering 50 mph

TikTok footage has shown what happens when someone goes down a water park's extreme slide which women are ‘banned’ from going on for an important reason.

Last week, a world champion diver learned the hard way what happens after going down the 'no women' slide at the Area 47 water park in Austria.

Rhiannan Iffland was curious to find out what women were missing out on while visiting the terrifying attraction which, by the way, boasts speeds of up to a mega 50mph.

It turns out that, in recent years, there have been reports of women having their insides 'ripped apart' by high-speed water slides.

According to the National Library of Medicine in the US, women can sustain horrific injuries if high pressure water enters their body, while there is also a risk of infections due to the foreign bodies found in the water.

The diver had previously come across water slide restrictions centring on weight and height, believing that the restriction on women alone was rather inconspicuous.

She later told press that nothing about this particular slide seemed especially dangerous, apart from the fact that it boasts speeds of up to 50 mph.

So - initially hoping to inspire others not to be told 'no' - Rhiannan filmed the entire ride so she could later upload it to social media.

People later since hit out against Area 47, implying that the park’s decision to have a male-only slide was pretty sexist.

Since then, the waterpark has issued a response addressing the 'misogyny' claims.

A spokesperson from the park told Tyla: "AREA 47 was built in 2009/2010. At that time, we did not intend to create a 'men only' attraction within the water park. Initially, this particular slide was open to both women and men.

"However, in the second year, we noticed a significant increase in accidents on this slide, which required us to take action. We consulted with doctors, authorities, and the manufacturer of the slide.

"This led to a difficult decision: either disassemble the water slide or restrict its use to men only, as it stands now."

They continued: "Our highest priority is ensuring the safety and happiness of all our guests, regardless of gender. The risks for women using this slide were tragically highlighted a few years ago when a woman was severely injured on a similar slide in the Canary Islands.

"I want to emphasise that AREA 47 is not misogynistic. Approximately 50% of our team members are female, and 60% of our management team is female."

After Rhiannan's antics, footage of a person - who goes by the handle TurboSlides on YouTube - going down the same slide at the Area 47 park has resurfaced and, in all honesty, it looks like a pretty intense ride. Take a look:

With any hesitation, he sat down at the opening of the 'male-only' slide and took the plunge, seeing him reach speeds of up to 50mph.

The adrenaline-filled experience only lasted about 10 seconds or so, but it's clear the dude was a pro because he barely let out so much as a blubber.

Couldn't be me.
