American YouTuber Annabelle Ham has sadly died at just 22-years-old.

News of Annabelle's death was confirmed by her family in a post shared on her Instagram account, which described Annabelle as 'beautiful and inspiring'.

The influencer, from Georgia, gained thousands of followers on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram after first launching her lifestyle channel in 2014.

Annabelle vlogged about her life and style.

She regularly shared insights to her life as a student at Kennesaw State University, as well as makeup and style tips, while also working as a digital media intern for Atlanta's radio sports station, 680 The Fan.

Annabelle's family described how everyone Annabelle met was 'inspired by her energy and the light inside her soul that shined so bright'.

In the post, they explained that she had passed away after experiencing an 'epileptic event'.

"We’re writing this with heavy, heavy hearts. Annabelle experienced an epileptic event and has gone on to the gates of heaven," they wrote.

"She struggled with this for a long time and wanted to raise awareness for it, which we will do in honor of her."

Annabelle's family announced the news on Instagram.

Epilepsy is a common condition which affects the brain and causes frequent seizures. It can be treated with medication or surgery, though some people need treatment for life.

Most people with epilepsy are able to live normal lives if their seizures are well controlled, the NHS explains, though in some cases it is responsible for sudden, unexpected death.

Annabelle's family said she will 'forever be so so loved', adding: "We’re asking for your prayers of peace for her family and friends during this difficult time, and to allow all of us the chance to grieve and work through this as a family...

"There will be a time to share more details and to go deeper into her life. Her accounts will be used to share what she went through and the joys she brought to all of us."
