A popular YouTuber has been slammed by social media users for sharing an ‘inappropriate’ video of his daughter on TikTok.

Jonathan Joly – part of the Saccone-Joly family, who have 1.69 million subscribers on YouTube – posted a video of his 10-year-old daughter Emilia singing a song by Sam Smith.

“Emilia has been singing this alot lately so we thought we would post it,” he wrote on TikTok, soon racking up hundreds of thousands of likes on the post.

His daughter was singing along to ‘Unholy’, a song by Smith and Kim Petras about being unfaithful while in a relationship.

While some people praised Emilia’s ‘beautiful’ voice, others couldn’t help but point out the ‘inappropriate’ nature of the track.

One person commented: "It’s severely inappropriate for a child to be singing."

Another said: “Her dad is actively encouraging her to sing this song and then plastering it on the internet. It's wrong."

But many people defended Joly, saying his daughter was just enjoying singing.

One TikToker asked: “Why are people so intent on tearing down a child?"

“It doesn’t matter what she sounds like, as long as she loves what she’s doing.”

Someone else agreed: “Listen respectfully all these comments about why this song and it’s inappropriate, it really ain’t that deep it’s a good song kmt.”

Others ignored the controversy altogether, simply commenting on Emilia’s vocal skills.

“If she keeps this up she's going to have a AMAZING voice when she grows up, its so impressive that she has a voice like that at a young age,” someone wrote supportively.

“Beautiful!” another added.

Tyla has reached out to the Saccone-Joly family for comment.

Jonathan and wife Anna regularly share videos about family life, sharing footage that often features daughters Emilia, Edie and Alessia and son Andrea.

In a recent video, the proud parents revealed Emilia had got a part that she’d wanted in a new play.

Her dad wrote in the video’s caption: “I’m so proud of Emilia, I’ve said it before she has had a tricky time the last 2 years but she is bouncing back and making moves!! Can’t wait to see her on stage!!

“You know I'll be making an emotional Jonathan special story video about that.. prob on TikTok but I will let you know if you don’t follow me there.”

Despite gaining recent popularity on TikTok, YouTube continues to be the family's biggest platform, where they have over 1.6 million subscribers.
