Six months after her 16-year-old daughter announced her engagement, Paris Fury is defending the decision.

Venezuela, the eldest child of media star Paris and heavyweight boxer Tyson, said 'Yes' to boyfriend Noah Price, 17, back in October.

Price popped the all-important question on the dance floor during her 16th birthday party.

Paris, 36, broke the news online at the time, sharing a snap of the happy couple, captioned: "Both only young but when you know, you know!"

Following the announcement, she and Tyson have come under some criticism regarding Venezuela's age, raising concerns that she might be too young to be making such a huge decision.

"This just looks so awkward & like they're both embarrassed. Which just proves they're far too young to be making such q huge commitment to each other," one wrote in the comments of their engagement clip.

Another hit out: "Literally a child bride."

"She is only 16!!! Let her live her life!!!" a third added.

Despite this, mother-of-seven Paris told PA this week that she trusts her daughter's decision.

"There’s a part of me that is a little bit sad that it’s all happened so soon, because I still feel like I’m so young, and I feel like my kids," the best-selling author confessed. "Imagine my brain, they’re all babies and they’re all at home."

Paris, who married Tyson in 2008, aged 19, added, however: "But obviously, Venezuela is a young woman. She’s 16 years old. She makes her own choices in life. On the other hand, the mirror image - I think she is so lucky.

"Like, you’ve met this person that you want to spend your life with. I did the same thing at 17."

She also insisted she's thrilled by the prospect of welcoming Prince into the family, describing the happiness he provides Venezuela as 'beautiful'.

This is far from the first time that Paris has been forced to defend her daughter's decision.

Appearing on This Morning in the days following the high-profile engagement, presenter Ben Shepherd pointed out: "She's quite young, though, as well. Do you and Tyson worry a little bit about the fact that she's only sixteen and she's got a whole life ahead of her?"

Responding, Paris claimed: "Not at all. Venezuela is so mature for her years.

"Venezuela has done so much, even in such a short time, just because of who she is and the fact that she's got six younger brothers and sisters that she's helped bring up - I can't deny it."

She continued: "She's very mature. In the last twelve months, I've found that I've been doing work with Venezeula. She's been doing different shoots, interviews, working on social media. I've given her all options in life and she has chose this path.

"And I can't deny it, because I was seventeen when I got engaged. She's obviously following in my footsteps, so how can I can judge her in any which way. I know she's young, but I think she's found the person that she loves and if she's happy, I will completely support her."
