Man on nine-month world cruise reveals one word passengers are 'banned' from saying

Viewers were left shocked at the revelation

If you're already using thoughts of hot summer evenings and sun-soaked vacations in an attempt to tackle the sombre 'January blues', believe me, you're not alone.

It turns out that, during this brisk and bleak winter months, holiday bookings sky-rocket through the roof, with many travellers using their trip as something to look forward to.

And along with the millions of Brits purchasing flights at this time of year, comes a colossal surge in holiday-makers booking themselves onto an incoming cruise.

Setting sail across the sea can one of the longest and most relaxing holidays you'll ever take - if you don't get seasick easily, of course.

Whether you're a regular cruiser looking to rebook your favourite route or will be a newbie to the seas this summer, however, there are apparently a very strict set of rules you have to follow, many of which a huge proportion of people claim never to have heard of.

There are the obvious rules - don't climb on the railings; return by all aboard time; no reserving deckchairs.

But apparently, there's one, very specific rule that all cruisers must following when onboard these colossal vessels.

According to TikTok star Marc Sebastian - who is currently on a gifted trip on the South America-Antarctica leg of Royal Caribbean's nine-month world cruise - there's actually a particular word that MUSN'T be said by anyone.

Well, it's not a word per say. More of a name. A movie title. A historical event, if you will.

No prizes for guessing this one...

It is, of course, the word 'Titanic' - the ocean liner that infamously sank to the bottom of the North Atlantic Ocean back in 1912 after hitting an iceberg.

It also refers to the award-winning Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet's 1997 romantic disaster blockbuster of the same name.

Anyway, in a brand new video, Marc - famed for revealing the 'behind-the-scenes' secrets of one of the most stellar cruises around the world - insisted that mentioning this particular topic onboard will get you quite the reaction.

"Who knew that? I didn't," he admitted in the now viral TikTok. "I brought up to an entire room of people having lunch that our ship is only 100 feet longer than the Titanic."

Apparently, those around him were left picking up their jaws, much to Marc's confusion.

"When I tell you that, utensils dropped okay. Waiters gasped dead silent," he told viewers, claiming that his friend learn over him to say: "You're not allowed to talk about the Titanic."

March then said that he had no idea about this particular rule, being that it 'wasn't in the f***ing handbook', but should we really be surprised?

Viewers of the video, however, joined Marc in admitting they'd too never heard of this rule.

"I'm sorry if I'm going on a boat, I'm talking about Titanic and OceanGate," one penned the comments.

Another said: "Not being able to talk about the Titanic would definitely ruin the experience for me."

A third added: "Is the titanic thing for cruises the same as like macbeth for theatre."
