It's almost been a month since Netflix released their gut-churning new documentary Trainwreck: Poop Cruise, and subscribers are still reeling over one word a survivor used to describe the horror show.
For those who haven't yet caught up with the hour-long episode, it tells the tale of the ill-fated 2013 Carnival Triumph voyage, which saw over 4,000 seafaring passengers plunged into their worst nightmare when a vital electrical failure flooded the ship with urine and faeces.
The incident was sparked by a fire that broke out inside the ship's engine room after a fuel oil return line failed. As a result, gasoline was sprayed onto a piping hot surface, permanently damaging the vessel's generator.

The Carnival Triumph - which had been travelling from Texas to Mexico at the time - subsequently suffered a huge power cut to both the mains and propulsion, leaving it stranded in the middle of the sea for four days.
During this period, passengers had limited supplies of food and power. Sanitation levels then took a severe hit when raw sewage began being backed up into passenger deck areas, triggering a major biohazard.
Whilst staff on board advised cruisers to use red biohazard bags to go number two and use showers for urination, many passengers ignored the guidance, and proceeded using toilets that wouldn't be able to flush.

Survivors of the incident have since spoken to Netflix producers about the incident, with one former Carnival chef using one, particularly nauseating word to describe the mass of sewage discovered in some cabins.
Speaking in the documentary, chef Abhi described the sight as being similar to 'lasagna'. "People were pooping on top of toilet paper, then pooping on top of that," he told viewers.
"It was layer after layer after layer. It was like a lasagna."

After the cook claimed he can 'never' look at the Italian main course 'the same way', the food-based analogy seemed to hit home for a number of Netflix subscribers, many of whom seemed to find the whole fiasco rather funny.
"When Abhi was telling the story and then started laughing, I started laughing! I hit a quick rewind and laughed again!" one Reddit user confessed this week.
Another agreed, writing: "'It was like a lasagna' is one of the funniest statements I’ve ever heard; thank you for your service cruise sir."
"This absolutely murdered me (and the ending recap of him being unable to look at lasagna the same again)," a third added.

Another went on: "When he described the loo roll and poo piling up as lasagne I belly laughed for 5 minutes straight, I have never found tv as funny as that, he made that documentary."
Eventually, the Carnival Triumph was towed from just off the coast of Mexico to Mobile, Alabama, over several days.
The cruising company eventually provided a small compensation of $500, and a refund for the trip home for each passenger, according to another passenger.
