Man who ‘saw heaven’ and said angels took him to an unexpected place after temporarily dying

Man who ‘saw heaven’ and said angels took him to an unexpected place after temporarily dying

A TikTok user and medium once recounted the events leading him to experience a religious epiphany

A sepsis survivor once opened up about the moment he witnessed the white light of the afterlife while being flanked by two celestial beings.

TikTok user and spiritualist David Hanzel, 50, was suffering from a lung infection and sepsis when he was admitted to hospital in September 2015.

However, due to complications, the North Carolina man soon ‘flatlined’ before he entered into a two-month-long coma.

The medium claimed that he experienced his first taste of the afterlife during this state of prolonged loss of consciousness.

David said he always knew he would exit this Earthly plane at an early stage in his life - and that he had ‘no conception’ of his own death.

Recounting his brush with the afterlife, he told the Daily Star: "I just remember closing my eyes because I was sick. And then when I opened my eyes back up, I was in this night sky.

"It was the most beautiful, velvety, silky night sky.

"No clouds. No stars. No nothing. And there wasn't a beginning or end to it.”

David claimed that he then became aware of two more ‘beings’ on the plane who felt ‘comfortable’.

“All of a sudden one being was on my left and one on my right,” he explained. “They just felt comfortable. Like I knew them.

“They showed me that it was the most beautiful, golden-white light. It was so pretty and there were all these angels and everything going up into it.”

The TikTok user continued to say that the otherworldly beings navigated him to a ‘heavenly bar’ featuring empty ‘coloured bottles’.

"They had told me this later on, whatever your beliefs are or whatever you're comfortable with - this is what you're going to see first when you die.”

After exiting the pub, David said he began to walk up the side of a white ‘marble’ building.

“When you stepped, you didn't feel like your foot touched the ground,” he recounted. “Like there's no gravity. It's kind of like you're floating and walking.”

Soon after, David’s experience began to melt away and he eventually woke up from his coma.

"I came back with total forgiveness for everybody who's ever done anything bad to me,” he said

"I think it literally took dying to understand all those things and all about religion.”

Years on from his epiphany, David now posts content related to near-death experiences and offers spiritual readings on his TikTok channel.

The user also regularly answers questions about the afterlife and dream meanings.
