This 2000s make-up is back - Millennials will be quaking

The make-up trend was absolutely HUGE back in the nostalgic Y2K era...

Many of us seem to be seriously nostalgic for the 2000s when it comes to music, fashion and, of course, makeup.

The Y2K era brought some extremely iconic makeup trends, including frosted lips, shimmerball body glitter, razor-thin brows, hyper-bronzed cheeks, dark brown lip liner, and the beloved face gems craze.

Now, while we've left a lot of the more experimental beauty trends in the millennium, it's clear one is making its triumphant return, and Millennials will no doubt be quaking over the unexpected renaissance.

From the year 2000 up until the 2010s, you simply couldn't go through a magazine or look up at a billboard ad without coming across some gorgeous model donning copious amounts of this product.

Fashion legend Victoria Beckham has revived the frosty eye-look aesthetic.

The businesswoman boasts a high-end makeup line and a clothing line, and recently announced that her iconic eyeliner has a new shade: silver!

Victoria took to Instagram to show off the launch, writing: "THE POWER OF SILVER. Introducing Silver Glaze, a chrome silver inspired by fine jewellery with sparkle you'll notice from across the room."

"Creamy, waterproof, and long-wear, the Satin Kajal Jewel Liner collection delivers opulent colour with a refined, gem-like finish - it's really quite brilliant," the Spice Girls star added.

Commenting on the trend, Jo Martin, international makeup artist for Paul & Joe, explained: "Y2K nostalgia is still going strong, and silver eyeshadow was a staple from that time.

"The difference between today's makeup and that of the 2000s is an improvement in the formulation of glittery and shimmery powder shadows."

Sharing her experiences with the makeup trend the first time around, the expert added: "I remember as a teenager applying a frosty powder with big pieces of glitter that would fall all over my face. Now, the powders are softer, more metallic washes that blend beautifully over the lids."

Jo then shared her expert tips on how to approach the trend if you were keen on trying it out, telling HELLO!: "Silver is actually really easy to wear. My top tips would be to make sure you prep your lids with an eyeshadow base or concealer and powder, as the softness of the silver powders means they will crease more than your usual eyeshadow.

"Keep lips and cheeks more neutral and use brown or grey liners and mascaras as black is very harsh against a light silver base."

Overblending the shadow can dull its shine," she warned, "so keep a light hand and only blend what's needed. One swipe with a fingertip is the best application."
