1000-lb Sisters’ Tammy Slaton responds after fans raise concern over facial bruising

Fans had shared their worries over the painful looking bruises

1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has been through quite the transformation of late.

The reality icon has shed more than 500lbs after undergoing bariatric surgery on the show.

She has been showcasing the results of her hard work lately, impressing fans with her new figure and the work she has been putting in.

Tammy recently hit back, saying: "Haters make me famous!" after some critics still picked fault with her despite her new look.

The 39-year-old TV star regularly keeps her followers updated on social media, and fans were commenting their concerns after she shared a video in the car with her fiancée, Andrea Dalton, over the weekend.

While singing along to the Kenny Loggins song 'Footloose' in the clip, Tammy appeared to have visible bruising on her face.

“Are you OK?” one concerned viewer asked on the TikTok video.

They added: “What happened to your chin?”

Another commented: “Tammy girl why does your face have a bruise on it? You look great Tammy with your smile now?”

Tammy has since responded, writing: “I had teeth pulled.” Ouch.

It's all part of her dental makeover. She recently showed off her new teeth and explained that she had developed a lisp as they were just a temporary bridge.

The reality star said that she was due to have more work, which these bruises seem to be a part of.

Speaking on the Creative Chaos podcast last month, Tammy confirmed: “They’re temporary still. They had to cement them in cause the glue wasn’t holding. My body was rejecting it. They had to pull teeth and it’s a bridge. I’m still getting more done. It’s a process.”

Tammy had also undergone a dramatic change following a skin removal procedure, after her impressive weight loss.

It follows sad news for the family after Tammy and Amy's cousin, who had also appeared on the show, sadly passed away.

Katie Slaton, 37, had stage 4 cancer and Tammy and Amy's older sister, Amanda Halterman, shared a statement: “It is with a completely crushed heart and spirit that I have to post this.

“My little cousin went to sit at the feet of Jesus yesterday. She was a force to be reckoned with and showed love that was accepting and given freely. She was the life of the party and my best friend.”

“I know both our grandparents and friends was there to welcome you home,” it continued. “Please pray for everyone whom loves her. Thank you all who has come out and supported her.”
