Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, once made a heartbreaking admission about his romance with Taylor Swift before their engagement announcement on Tuesday (26 August).
Kayla, a sports journalist, started dating the Kansas City Chiefs star back in 2017 engaging in an on-again/off-again relationship until they permanently parted ways in 2022. She previously opened up about the treatment she's received from Swifties and other critics alike, after Travis struck up a relationship with Taylor the following year in 2023.
She appeared on season three of Fox’s Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test, which concluded in February this year.
On the show, she opened up about Travis, telling contestants: "He’s dating Taylor Swift."

Kayla then made the sad admission: "I just get a lot of sh*t online because he’s dating such a mega superstar."
In a confessional, she went on to share: "Going through a public breakup, just to be frank, is overwhelming.
"I’ve never experienced anything like it. Being reduced to a headline - to something so small as someone’s ex-girlfriend - I feel like if I complete this, it will be a massive impact for myself."

It's clear there's no bad blood between Kayla and Taylor, given that she said she was a fan of her music.
"I really like, like, her," Kayla assured. "I think she’s very talented."
Despite this, the social media discourse on the whole situation is 'pretty consistent' and understandably 'exhausting' for the model-influencer.

"It doesn’t matter - I could post about the sky being blue and people will have a response about an ex and their new situation. It’s inadvertently affected me to the point where it makes me question my overall value as a person," she explained.
Tearful, Kayla added: "It’s just the comparison. It’s just, like, on loop. I think I’m still trying to figure out how to deal with that."
Cruel keyboard warriors have since taken it upon themselves to flood Kayla's latest Instagram post with 'weird' comments following the Tay-Trav engagement.
Thankfully, many other came in clutch to defend Kayla against the 'weirdos' online whose comments were most definitely bordering on parasocial.

"Not y'all in her comments being weirdos. Omfg pls grow up," slammed one Instagram user, while a second declared: "I'm sure she wants y'all to leave her alone bout that man lol."
Another chimed in: "Please stop!!! It's been over for four long years!!!"
And a final Instagram user penned: "Chilllllll she's fine."
