Travis Kelce fans divided after spotting his ex after the Super Bowl

On Sunday (9 February), the world watched on as Travis Kelce's team, the Kansas City Chiefs, were thrashed by the Philadelphia Eagles at the Super Bowl final.

The match itself proved to be a very dramatic one indeed filled with booing, controversial political appearances and a now-viral halftime show.

And now, the latest slice of Super Bowl drama sees Kelce's fans seriously divided online after spotting his on-again-off-again ex-girlfriend of five years, Kayla Nicole, on the pitch following his loss.

One clip shared to social media shows Nicole holding two handfuls of Eagles-coloured confetti before blowing it up towards the camera, while another saw her posing on the field while chatting to various people.

Upon seeing the clips, one Twitter user hit out: "I mean… if she were a real fan, there would be no problem here. however… the obsession and tackiness is rampant. This chick is a bandwagon fan to anything and everything that rivals her ex that she’s still obsessed with after all these YEARS."

A second piped up: "Right?! it’s giving I’m still obsessed with him and being petty like this as a grown woman isn’t a good look."

"I feel bad for her," declared a third. "She is too fine to be this petty. It's way past time for him to get over this man. She had her crown and now she threw it away being silly."

Others, however, took the opportunity to point out that Nicole is actually a sports journalist - hence why she was on the field covering America's biggest sporting event of the year.

"She's on the field because she has a sports podcast. I bet she would have been on the field if the Chiefs won," explained a fourth X user, while a fifth slammed: "She’s there for work, drop the gimmicks lol."

"She literally works in sports media. Not everything is about Taylor and Travis. Be p***ed at the media not her doing her job. Ya’ll can distinguish when it’s the medias fault for things related to Taylor but play dumb for everything else," claimed another.

And a final X user echoed: "She’s a sports journalist. This is her literally job."

Kelce looked devastated following his team's loss, with a body language expert analysing his 'true feelings' when going to meet his girlfriend.

Following this, the football star has made clear his true feelings about the Super Bowl loss during a post-game interview.

He took the time to praise the winning team, explaining to the numerous reporters crowded around him: "Hats off to the Eagles, they got after us, all three phases."

The tight end continued: "We couldn’t get it going offensively. They just got after us on all three phases. You don’t lose like that without everything going bad. We haven’t played that bad all year."

Kelce went on to note that the Chiefs 'just couldn’t find that spark, couldn’t find that momentum'.

He also explained what the team got wrong during the eagerly-anticipated final, telling reporters: "Not taking advantage of the play call and executing them. There’s a lot that goes into it.

"This team is going to fight until the end forever, and you saw that. Even with the score late, we’re always going to fight."

He finally resolved: "This one’s going to hurt. Let it hurt and figure out how to get better because of it."
