Tommy Fury sparks debate after sharing why he doesn’t eat what Molly-Mae cooks

Furious Molly-Mae Hague fans are defending the influencer, after Tommy Fury confessed he doesn't eat her cooking.

Many people would love to sit down to a home-cooked meal, but pro-boxer Tommy opened up about the fact he avoids eating what Molly-Mae makes.

It comes just days after he caused controversy by sharing his 'date' rule the couple have, when he said he always pays for dinner for the two, saying it's a 'gentleman' thing to do.

It seems that 'gentlemanly' behaviour doesn't extend to enjoying Molly-Mae's food.

Tommy made the confession while appearing on a podcast with his dad, John Fury.

John asked: "Do you not eat Molly's food when she cooks?", and Tommy shook his head, replying: "Definitely not!"

"Molly lives off toasties and crisps and sweets," he continued, as his dad interjected: "Junk food, yeah?"

"Yeah, I don't live like that," added Tommy, before moving on to the next question which asked how much he spends on an average food shop.

"I'd say it would be anywhere from £250 to £350," per week, he revealed, to which John asked if he does the shop himself.

"Well, the way it works is, Molly does an online shop that comes, but the way that Molly eats and the way that I eat... two different things."

"Molly looks out for Molly and the baby, but me, I do my own shopping because I only eat the food that I buy," he insisted.

Fans were unimpressed by his comments.

"Tommy, you need to cook for Molly," insisted one, as another tagged Molly-Mae and asked "girl, are you going to defend yourself?"

One demanded: "She's got two young children Tommy, how about you cook her some meals?", as another quipped: "He's hung Molly out to dry there lol."

A Tommy fan agreed with him though: "Fair enough. He's an athlete and knows what he's got to prepare for the week so he gets what he needs. It works for them!".

Back in 2019, fans criticised a meal Molly-Mae had cooked for him, after Tommy shared a sweet post saying: "Hard training session at the gym, but I come home to wifey goals," as he showed a plate of chicken, new potatoes and vegetables.

One critic slammed: "That chicken Molly-Mae cooked for Tommy is beige. I’m am so sorry but beige coloured chicken is highly unacceptable."

Tommy defended her at the time, replying: "Can I just say that the meal Molly-Mae made for me was a fighter's meal, clean cut food, I don’t like seasoning or any of that btw."

Fans also pointed out that during his time in the villa, Tommy also served up 'cheese on bread with a bottle of mayo as a starter', so his cooking must have improved since.

The couple welcome a baby girl, called Bambi, and share an adorable family snap announcing the arrival on Instagram.

"I can’t believe we get to keep you forever. Becoming your mum has been the best thing to ever happen to me," Molly-Mae wrote at the time. "It doesn’t seem possible but my love for you grows with each passing moment. There is no feeling like holding you in my arms little one, my heart literally explodes. Tommy proposes to Molly-Mae while on holiday in Ibiza. A black and white video captures the moment he gets down on one knee, with baby Bambi also there for the occasion.

Sharing the engagement news online, the couple caption the post: "Forever. 23/07/23."

August 2024

Molly-Mae shocks fans by announcing that she had split from Tommy after five years together. In her statement, she writes: "Never in a million years did I think I'd ever have to write this.

"After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way."

Tommy also shares a statement, which reads: "I am heartbroken to share that Molly & I have decided to end our relationship.

"The past five years have led us to having our beautiful baby girl, Bambi, and I will forever be thankful to Molly for making me a dad. Bambi is our priority."

Tommy hits out at cheating rumours, telling MailOnline: "All the allegations that were made of me recently are completely false. The truth will come out in time and when it does I think a lot of people might regret their actions and unkind words."

January 2025

The pair are seen kissing at a New Year’s party, sparking speculation they could be back together.

"We are figuring it out as adults, as parents," Molly-Mae tells reporters. "We're doing the best we can."

Tommy opens up on the reason for the split, revealing to Men’s Health: "We broke up because I had a problem with alcohol and I couldn't be the partner that I wanted to be anymore. It kills me to say it, but I couldn't. I loved a pint of beer, loved to drink."

He adds: "Cheating was never a thing. You can ask Molly this yourself. It was the drink, and the drink is not a good thing."
